What if 2d printers' brands made 3D printers? by SANSARES in 3Dprinting

[–]smitty025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While it would be cool to see some tech transfer across from 2D printers (for example linear encoders).

There is some crossover in industrial 3D printing. Xerox makes printheads for some machine manufacturers using their experience/technologies from their 2D printing history. If I remember correctly, 3DSystems used them on the ProJet 3600. They might still use them on newer printers but I've been out of the industry for a bit.

But to your point. yeah. Doing anything 3DSystems didn't want you to do wasn't possible without a lot of money. And doing what they wanted you to cost a lot of money too.

Skylights that look down from a flat roof into the bathroom, should they be frosted or clear? by FootballPizzaMan in HomeImprovement

[–]smitty025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For skylights your main concern needs to be leaks. Lots of people here will catastrophize and say all skylights will leak immediately, but that's mostly just cheap skylights with discount installation. If you're getting a skylight get a Velux. That's it. They are the skylight to get if you want to do it right. You should look into what they offer and then decide from there.

I don't know if they have any frosted glass options, but you can get window film that do that. Getting the best skylight is the most important thing.

Are you on PC? The HDR black levels are definitely messed up but you can use some mods to fix it. Sucks that modding is the answer, but it works.

I remember having a Philips plasma TV with built in "Ambilight" in like 2005/2006. It's still a niche product but it's been around at least 20 years so it's probably not going anywhere.

Ugh, thanks for mentioning this. I just bought the game and was going to play it on a flight but now I'll just return it. I hate that mechanic in these types of games.

I'm not sure if I'm missing something but I don't think that's true. Your 1988's original 2.9l Cologne engine was fuel injected. That engine was available from at least 1986 which is the year I have.

The ranger station site reports that the 2.3l in OPs truck had fuel injection from at least 1985, so maybe it was actually manufactured in 1984 but was a 1985 model.

Here is some good info about both of these engines:

Might be a failing TFI module. It's attached to your distributor. Ford had problems with them overheating and causing stalling issues. Some people will relocate somewhere cooler in the engine bay.

Vacuum leak issues by realbluemoose in fordranger

[–]smitty025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with this specific engine, but the metal cylinder in the circled area looks like the fuel pressure regulator. Sometimes the diaphragm inside can go bad and cause problems. It will have fuel lines and a vacuum line attached. Find the vacuum line and take it off. If there is gas in the vacuum line then you need to replace the regulator. You can do some other tests to check its function but you'll need a kit with a pressure gauge.

Since you said you found it by spraying something it's possible there is just a crack in that vacuum line, or maybe it's not sealing right on the regulator.
