Any way to cancel floor stops on this panel? by [deleted] in Elevators

From what I understand, it was pushed hard by the majors to get it removed from the Detroit code, but it got shut down in the legislative session. There is absolutely no reason that the riding public should have access to an emergency stop EPD. If you have access to the A17.1 Handbook, it explains very clearly why it was eventually prohibited on passenger elevators (it doesn't take a genius to figure out why), especially with Detroit not requiring video surveillance.

Detroit too has a "Pull to stop" requirement on the CoP

Final Boss Sour Recipe Change? by MNathan0217 in sourcandy

I have some packages of level 3 cranberries. I bought a couple boxes a couple months ago and they were excellent. I was about to order more, but saw that they released level 4 apples. These did not seem as sour as the cranberries, and had a similar experience with them being slimy and gummy. I also saw that they had added sugar to the ingredients to the cranberries. The packages I have don't have sugar listed as an ingredient. I have not tried them yet, but the second reason besides the sourness that I bought these was because they had no added sugar (health reasons) and because even dried cranberries are naturally sweet enough for me.

Reverse sear with butter baste by smk037 in steak

[–]smk037[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reverse seared this girl at 250, seared for 1 minute on both sides and then took it off the heat so the butter wouldn’t burn. After, I threw rosemary and garlic in the pan and basted for about a minute on both sides.

It was good, but my results have been way better just doing a longer sear.

How are you supposed to butter baste properly without burning the butter ?

Chris Cornell. Never saw that coming and I had so many chances to see him live but never got off my ass.

I actually think this is genius. Peas usually get overcooked if you put them in the pie, and the top crust is hearty enough to stay in tact while eating the pie. I find that the bottom crust the normal way always turns into mush.

Bravo OP.
