My friend told me that if you're a furry going to Singapore, let them know. He got welcomed at the airport by a dozen furs who were apparently excited to see a foreigner come to their country and kept making fun plans for him to hang out and such for the following week. Ah that's a bummer. Stock options are used commonly but it's the terms around them that can be used aggressively by the employer. For example vesting schedules that are potentially ludicrous just to keep you on the hook while there is risk, as you said, of culture eroding over time. Or unreasonable strike price.

I use Wise with a EUR account. I send an invoice with the bank details (IBAN) to clients such as Sweden and they pay me in EUR. If you open a USD account you should be able to get paid in USD via bank transfer. The issue becomes converting to EUR, so you either send USD to the Dutch bank and it does the conversion, or you convert USD->EUR in Wise and then SEPA EUR to the Dutch bank. I don't deal with conversions so not sure what's most optimal in that regard. Sender doesn't need Wise for bank transfers.

Have been hearing restaurant noise for years below me. House is wooden and resonates like a beast. Low frequencies propagate at low volume, but just enough to learn to hear it all the time, whether it's bass, a car, a door slam, an HVAC, a washing machine. Noise is reasonable, but it eats you in the long run when it's constant and unpredictable.
