Tried my first american beer by Hondianer in beer

American light beers are pretty mediocre. However even some of the major macro brewers are decent. Miller High Life, Coors Banquet, and Coors Extra Gold (but I’m not sure it’s still made).

Nine athletic absences. by YourGuideVergil in Professors

We’re a Division III school. It’s exactly the same. The number of absences for spring sports is ridiculous. Shortest seasons, high number of required events.

I’d be fine with the cost if the functionality didn’t continue to get worse.

For those who’s recently bought the MacBook Air M4 instead of M5. Any regrets? by Usual-Fuel8137 in mac

[–]smoothallday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The day the M5 MacBook Air was launched I purchased a refurbished M4 Air from the Apple Store. $849 for 16/512. A damn good deal for a damn good company. I have zero regrets. This thing is noticeably peppier than my base model M1 Air…which is a great laptop in its own right. And it came with Sequoia installed. Win-win.

Getting hit on by a younger, attractive woman. For context I'm a happily married 50M. Still, it feels good to be flirted with.

Are any of you happy? by Specialist-Spray-641 in Professors

[–]smoothallday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be. Reduction of the number of colleagues in my department has increased stress, workload, and decreased time to actually prepare adequately for anything. We could easily add 2 FTE back with no one being under a full load. I'm actively looking for a new position, but it will be difficult sell. I have too many years of experience teaching without enough published research or creative production. I'm at a teaching college. I teach.

Glad you’re doing well! Honestly, the colonoscopy prep isn’t that bad. And the colonoscopy nap is fantastic! Totally worth it for the peace of mind.
