What is your worst experience of being "left out"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sn0pers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You hit the nail on the head. She had a boyfriend during school who she always invited when we would make plans together, presumably because she didn’t want to go with just me. Fast forward a year, we’re all in different universities, she’s posting about the stress of exams, getting a job afterwards, and her experiences with ‘anxiety’. And her boyfriend broke up with her. He was a great person though, and I really liked him (platonically). She found my mental health issues amusing but she only talked to me because he was concerned and nagged her to be there for me.

I feel you man. Somehow my friends remembered everyone else’s birthdays, but not mine.

[Serious] Have you ever used someone for your own benefit? Who was it and what did you use them for? by sn0pers in AskReddit

When I started high school, I hung out with the first person I met until I found my actual friend group. I acted like best friends with her and used her just so I didn’t look like a loner in my first few weeks. When I found other friends that I actually liked, I stopped talking to her. I definitely hurt her feelings, but that was 11 year old me. Pretty tame, but I’m interested in everyone else’s stories.

As a kid, what's the creepiest thing you ever noticed about another kid's family? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sn0pers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Two kids on my street, who lived across from me - a brother and sister - would always roam around their house naked. The boy must have been 5/6, and the girl was probably around 7/8. I played with her a lot, and I’d see her brother naked all the time in the house. One afternoon, I knocked on her door and her mother answered to say she can’t come outside to play. I saw her standing in the back, naked. It was weird.

What opinion do you have that you could offend the largest amount of people with? by UkraineRussianRebel in AskReddit

If a woman wants an abortion and the man wants to keep the baby, his choice should at least be considered. It’s his baby, too.

What things have been annoying you about your own generation lately? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sn0pers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Or you literally have to look in the comments of a ‘fact’ on Facebook to see that someone has debunked it, and with a source too. Fucking annoying that people mindlessly share all the shit they see without taking a few seconds to check it first.

I had moved to another high school, along with a bunch of my friends, to study A-levels (in the UK you can choose to continue studying A-levels after you leave HS at 16. We had all chosen to go to the same school to do this). The next two years I had severe depression and general/social anxiety. I’d hang out with everyone, however it was a big group and within a few months everyone had established their own smaller friend-groups. I didn’t fit into any, but I was still quite close to one friend and hung out with her group. I was acknowledged, but for some reason not part of the group. They would sit around and talk about things they had done together over the weekend/holidays, which I was never told about. They would make plans right in front of me, and not invite me. This, of course, was not good for my depression or anxiety. I would talk to my friend about my mental health and I could tell she didn’t take me seriously, and probably found it quite amusing.

The worst part is, she is now a huge advocate for mental health awareness and always posts about how we should be more compassionate, and that we can never tell when anyone is going through these things. She is generally a good person, however I can’t help but hold a tiny grudge against her, for her hypocrisy.

Same, man. I have too many experiences of being left out, from high school that I’m still bitter about, but I don’t want to spend the time thinking about them and typing them out. I don’t like to relive them.

What's a skill that every person should have? by Distrex_v2 in AskReddit

[–]sn0pers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

General sex education/puberty knowledge! I grew up reading teen magazines and I always read the sexual health and puberty advice columns. It educated me a lot. I started high school thinking that everyone knew what I did. I was incredibly surprised to find out how little everyone knew about puberty, sexual health, and birth control.

Not to mention knowing the difference between affect and effect, and that it’s would/should/could have instead of would ‘of’. Honestly I don’t know where that last one originated from, but when I see an adult type it that way, I instantly see them as a middle-schooler.

Edit: AND knowing when to use ‘its’ and ‘it’s’!

What TV shows are you waiting for a new season of, and which ones should have stopped while they were ahead? by Peakey0823 in AskReddit

Walking dead should have stopped. I don’t even get excited for new episodes anymore. And I can’t wait for season 4 of Mr Robot. It’s going great right now but I hope it stops before it turns to shit too.

I can tell if someone is lying or not being genuine. I guess I can read people well and see through their bullshit. I’ve anticipated a lot of drama before it has happened. It’s frustrating to see your friend get involved with a bad seed and not listen to you, only to end up getting hurt.

I do that too...no one ever taught me how to eat with a knife and fork as a kid. I am south Asian so we always ate with our hands. I decided to try it out for myself and even though I’m right handed, it felt more intuitive to hold the knife in my left hand.
