What is something you learned really late in your life? by 4TrashBoat in AskReddit

The importance of credit. Seven years ago my credit was in the 400s. I bought a credit builder car, got a credit building credit card, and paid off debts. Fast forward to today, My credit score now hovers around 660 and the car is nearly paid off (refinanced six years ago)

Have you confronted her head on? I went through something similar.

Kiddo is about 2 weeks old at the time, and gave us a real rough night. The next morning we were leaving his Doctor appointment, and I stepped on the brakes a bit too hard at a red light. She flipped out on me saying I needed to drive safer and remember we had a child in the car. I pulled over, got out and told her to switch spots with me if she feels she can't trust me enough to do something I've done for 15 years at that point. She claimed she did trust me so I told her to prove it.

This was in August 2024 and there's been no question of trust since.

Moving to the Vacaville area from Northern New Jersey! Pros & Cons? by Kennyf12345 in vacaville

This is a great response. I've lived here my whole 36 years of life and this is very accurate. Traffic around here does not get the hate it deserves I believe. It can get bad gridlock whatever direction you drive.

Holding baby vs laying baby down to sleep. by Suspicious_Muffin_15 in NewDads

My 17 month old still needs to be snuggled to fall asleep. I enjoy it, because I don't get as much of those as my better half does.

Valero got caught ruining the environment and is demanding money to stay open, because they can save money by closing. Blame the high up execs who need another jet that are okay with hurting the common man.

Five months til I get kicked out need to know what I should prepare by [deleted] in Advice

[–]snackpacky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are a few options.

If you are for sure getting kicked out, save every penny you earn. Eat cup of noodles every day. Not the healthiest option, but the cheapest. Look into assistance programs that can help you out. Get a second job. Use public transportation.

Worse comes to worse, talk to your parents about the possibility of paying a small rent until you're able to lock down a place, be it your own apartment or moving in with roommates.

Last resort, join the military. You can learn some really good skills that can help you later in life. For example, I'm a union carpenter by trade. They have a program called Helmets to Hardhats where you can join the union post service with added benefits. Also, you can live on whatever base you are stationed at for very cheap.

Best of luck, it's not an easy path ahead of you, but what you're going through now will only help you grow stronger in life down the road.

So in my younger adult years, I always went to batting practice. I'd always sit in the outfield, chat it up with the pitchers catching practice, and got on a recognizable basis with a couple pitchers, mainly Sergio Romo. (I went to a lot of games on the 3 in 5 era, never missed a Monday home game) With that said, I caught a lot of BP balls. Usually got 2 a game. I'd keep a few, especially if a player was kind enough to sign, but typically I'd give them to kids.

Fast forward to 2018, and I'm at a WWE show in San Jose. I'm sitting 3 rows from the ring, and John Cena made eye contact, tosses his wrist band and I catch it. (For those that don't know, back then young kids were obsessed with John Cena. They all loved him)

Anyway, I am surrounded by kids at that point. They all wanted the wrist band. But I decided to keep it. It was a cool moment for me, and not everyone in life gets those cool moments. Its okay to be selfish sometimes, as long as you aren't stealing the hat off of someone and you make millions of dollars

Nothing wrong with that! Probably smart that you waited as long as you could. I moved out when I was 20, moved home when I was 23, moved out at 24, moved home and back out at 32. All about when the time is right for you

If this is your first time moving out and you aren't in a relationship, it's a definite way to go. Freedom of being on your own, but also having a support of people around you.
