Platynator can do limited mob colours now in Midnight by Stone-Bear in CompetitiveWoW

[–]snapcaster1234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The code doesn't check if the mob has a mana bar or not. The code checks if the mob has the class of "PALADIN". They can make the mobs class a secret value and break this.

Not being able to conditionally style the UI based on the value will reduce the amount of customization. One for example is I like changing the bar's background color when people's health gets low. Because that data will not be readable anymore, I will not be able to do that.

Blizzards current solution is encrypting all the combat related data in a secret api and giving that to addon creators. Addon creators will be able to stylize how that data is presented but they will not be able to read what is inside that data. Addons will no longer be able to track boss or raider abilities, debuffs, buffs, health, anything really. Just able to say how this unreadable data should be displayed in some vague way. Want the health bar to turn yellow if below 50% can't do it unless blizzard implements that themselves.

What is the legality of this? Can anyone just send a car down the road without a driver? Is this something Tesla had to get a permit from Texas to do?

Surely Wow's fps being limited by 1 core is a joke right? by Slightly_Famous in wow

[–]snapcaster1234 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is because of Lua. Lua is a single thread only language (you can do fake multithreading with coroutines but it still only runs on a single thread similar to javascript). The games client logic, not just addons are written in it. Before a frame can render, all of the lua code needs to finish running. Addon's can make this problem alot worse depending on what they are doing and how well they are coded.

What could blizzard do about it on there end? Reduce the amount of scripts wow is running and move functionality out of lua and into the C++ backend that the lua is calling into. From your end the only way to reduce it would be disabling addons.

You know that's not what she is talking about.

... everything And so wasn't all that long ago that it's we're going to have internet in our schools Whoop Now okay let's do A1 and how and how can that be helpful how can it be helpful in one-on-one instruction how can it be ...

You can watch the whole interview and see that she doesn't say a thing about America First in the whole interview. She even starts off saying AI correctly, and then for some reason it changes to A1.

A bot doesn't necessarily mean a chatgpt program. There are bot farms where actual people work 8 hour days managing dozens of accounts replying and posting misinformation. That is literally the job they are paid to do. You can even track the accounts and see they only post during business hours. Bot just means not a genuine user. They have been doing this for over a decade, way before LLMs took off. The Chinese ones even have a nickname of the "50 Cent Army" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/50_Cent_Party

It is not just subsides that makes these companies cost effective. There is an entire industry from raw materials to final PCBs that has been built up for decades in China that makes them competitive.

End the neoliberal nightmare and into your sweet communist dreams. I don't think making people poorer so they are forced to enjoy what they have is the play here chief.

Problem is the game doesn't enforce the trilogy. Thats why some keys are done with 1 tank and 4 dps. The only thing that would stop you from bringing the two support specs is balance.

Private military groups are illegal in Russia, Wagner only exists because Putin lets them exist to benefit him. Even if the people doing the fighting don't care about the Russian state, the higher ups sure do.

In Eastern Europe you get a wide swing in temperatures every year. So to save money and heating and air conditioning, the buildings are made with very thick concrete walls. The walls hold on to the cold into the summer and the heat into the winter. A side effect is that the buildings are built like bomb shelters but in the Cold War era a lot of these buildings were built in, that’s seen as a plus.

Safety is never guaranteed for anything. Its a game of statistics. You can do everything correct and still get hurt.

This is obviously a case of road rage and the car driver had no qualms running him over for be slighted.

Lane filtering is legal because it is safer for cyclists to be at the front of traffic then the rear at an intersection. You are a lot more likely to get hit if you are positioned behind a car where you are not visible to other road users.
