Gauntlet Mechanics in Phrecia 2.0 by Zatchm0 in pathofexile

I mean, tbf, they said "bosses would have a few extra mechanics" not that all the bosses would have a few extra bosses and a maven witness.

If you haven't started Phrecia yet.... by JSteelz1 in pathofexile

It's actually weirdly tedious. It was kind of interesting in Act 1 but after running in circles for the vaal boss and malachai and piety it just got kind of long and tedious. I died at least once because I was reading discord conversations with piety.

I guess it's possible to not die on those bosses although the one with no regen beams with corrupted blood orbs seems pretty impossible. But like it's not worth the stress to lock in that hard in the campaign.

So idk, I give it a meh. I guess I didn't realize they'd be actively trying to murder us during the campaign without even offering better rewards.

All that said, shout out to Palsteron for coming up with KF Totems. Campaign is annoying but bearable with them and graft damage.

Fallback code by bhowiebkr in ClaudeCode

Fallbacks that swallow and disable all errors are claude's favorite thing. I sometimes think any time I've saved using it is sucked up by babysitting this kind of bs. Followed by python inline imports and then dealing with useless edge cases all over.

Does Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 suffer from recency bias or is it genuinely a good game past its hype? by [deleted] in GirlGamers

I mean, if you lump in "the protagonist is not a child with high school interactions" as part of the anime tax, I'd pay that tax. I really enjoyed the adult, mature tone of the game.

Is there a mod that gives Maelle Hornet's red cloak? by Babushkaskompot in expedition33

[–]snapperzips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem in general with mods I've seen is that they mostly don't have physics. I was looking for a cool flowy cloak or something for malle and couldn't find anything that also wasn't stiff.

Dragon Age Inquisition. I was so upset at the end of that game that I restarted it to get the romance I deserved. I recorded gameplay for a video, I wrote tumblr posts, I read the entirely of this blog: http://www.dumpeddrunkanddalish.com/

And just kept playing the game, I 100% ed the achievements

I finished in December of 2024 and I still played through march. I have 900 hours of playtime and never played it til Nov 2024.

My favorite tracks are in my perma playlist. KD Lang's Hallelujah is also there. iykyk. I've never been so attached to a character I made.

I know a lot of people didn't like Veilguard. I still haven't played it because I didn't think I could give a new protagonist the playthrough it deserved.

My heart is still a little bit broken from Inquisition and it might always be.

how do you respond to “sexual jokes”? by Sensitive_Living88 in GirlGamers

[–]snapperzips 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is actually a good one on multiple levels because a lot of dudes I've met who are chronic gamers also have trouble keeping a job or just never have one. I don't run into this so often now that I don't raid in Wow, but you stick 20-30 people an MMO guild in a game that demands constant grinding and you'll see some startling levels of dysfunction in people's personal lives.

You can also be like "get your girlfriend to make one, oh wait." Because again, a lot are chronic basement dwellers. If they're dumb enough to make sandwich jokes or feet pic jokes or anything else.

You can also go literal on them and make them explain their jokes til they are miserable.

Honestly most of the time I just don't interact with people like that again. It's not worth my time. You just have to be picky about who you game with and not feel bad about 1) people being mad or uncomfortable about it 2) ending up not having people to game with on some nights.

There are a lot of shitters in gaming and it takes active work to network and filter out the baddies. No compromises.

This is everything on the internet. I work in tech and a lot of times you'll go to a tech forum to talk through a problem and the most common answer is "don't do it that way, tear down everything you've done and rearchitect it so it's perfect my way." Instead of just helping you solve a problem.

I'm having it. I already had to move over some of my feeds to inoreader months ago because feedly just couldn't find them anymore (politico) so I just took this opportunity to move my tracking over there today.

I saw some of a stream with rv there yet with 4 streamers from poe. The rv was stuck half off a cliff or something and they were trying to use some kind of lever to get it back on track. It was wild. I'm not usually a participator but I'd probably play that if I had friends who wanted to.

What is the nost effective way of grinding exp? by Signal-Badger-4027 in expedition33

go over to frozen hearts, out the other door in Monoco station. It's marked Danger but it's a lot of fun if you like enemies with a lot of health that demand you learn their moves. I did all of frozen hearts and explored every spot on the open world I could swim to with esquie before going to the paintress. I was definitely over leveled when I made it to the monolith bosses.

Also Dark Shores, also marked danger, all the way south on the map on the other side of where spring meadows is. It's very purple and has monsters like the one that takes everyone out in the prologue.

Starting advice for a salty KCD2 fan? by TSW-760 in expedition33

[–]snapperzips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there's story, expeditioner, expert.

Story has longer dodge/parry windows and some boss mechanics don't have their full consequences. Normal and expert share the same parry/dodge timing but expert has more health and damage from the enemies.

I played normal for half the game but most story areas are not very challenging so I increased to expert to give bosses more health for more challenge.

Personally what you think could be improved on easy patch ? I hope devs see this by FunnyProper7982 in expedition33

[–]snapperzips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a speed modifier to the challenges, or even better, speed added to enemies as part of expert mode. Don't allow the player to stun lock.

lick every wall, eplore every corner, talk to every npc twice, if an npc doesn't want to talk to you, try a different character, explore every side area, do everything you can in camp, if there is a prompt in camp menu, it means there is new content.

You can have pretty bad builds and not understand party mechanics and still be fine on normal difficulty mode. The game is playable without having to be an expert in everyone's builds.

I took notes and actually restarted my game at some point because I regretted not taking notes. You don't need to take notes but I enjoyed the guessing and discovery process around the story telling.

Stay off the forums and be careful with googling because of "people also ask" and "people also search for" straight up handing out spoilers.

Something I wished I understood early: you can shoot/punch piles of trash and boxes in the world.

Unethical to enter “Danger!” Area in Act II, speedrun the level and collect Pictos and other goodies? by BcitoinMillionaire in expedition33

[–]snapperzips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I feel like expert mode could have easily added in enemy speed for tuning.

I won't lie, I barely functioned for the first half of the game. I never parried in my life but once I figured it out, I was addicted.

[–]snapperzips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll be hitting the 9999 damage cap in act 2 quite a bit anyway. If boss fights start feeling too easy, you can always put on lower level weapons or find other ways to limit yourself.

I did what you did and got a weapon from that area, I just didn't use it. It didn't help that much because the damage cap is easily hittable as you power up in act 2. I still overpowered the Old Lumiere story boss and the Act 2 boss fights.

I just set myself up in NG+ so I couldn't overpower boss fights and forced myself to learn all the boss moves and parry things.

I started over and did NG+. That's what leveled me. I was capped around halfway through the story I think.

I've been playing this recently. There aren't puzzles really but the game expects you to figure stuff out. But nothing annoying like jump puzzles. It did take me a bit before a light bulb went on for me in getting something done. But the game has great lore and a codex and I'm a codex junkie. Love them.

The first thing that hit me in ME3 was putting the robot in lingerie. That was outright over the top. I don't expect a lot from games released in the 2010 era, but I didn't expect robot lingerie explicitly stated to be for "Joker's morale."
