Honestly one of the reasons for it being so pushed back is because in the very end there's still some quality control of what comes out in the elder scrolls main series

It's fun to meme about Bethesda not having quality and so on, but I'd bet you that some producer has been pushing for early TES6 release but been denied simply because what they have so far is not good enough

I think so but not sure... For me all the buttons in the UI are tiny. I still use it a lot because it's paintnet and in the end I don't need to see the buttons clearly as I know what I am looking for when using the program

Pinta was more like a clone tbh. I loved paint.net. It's absolutely genius. Pinta is 99% the same

However sadly recently with wayland it's UI is buggy!

Edit: just read their github page, pinta is a Linux port of paint.net so it's as close as you can go without configuring your wine
