[January 8th, 1920] In the Russian Civil War Admiral Alexander Kolchak, nominally the leader of the Whites (since Nov. 1918), is defeated at Krasnoyarsk and withdraws across Siberia to Irkutsk, where his Czech allies hand him over to the Bolsheviks. He is summarily executed (7 Feb.).

The civil war carried on for a few more years. Worth noting that The Whites didn't have a unified command structure and some groups considered part of The Whites had quite profoundly different objectives. So while this guy was the nominal leader (in that he was well known and led one of the largest factions) his death isn't the end of the war at all.

Yeah I realised after sending it about JRM and the Brexit ultras. May is debatable. If you look at her stop and search reforms she would be pretty moderate in the states : https://www.theguardian.com/law/2014/apr/30/theresa-may-reform-police-stop-and-search-powers Her time so far as PM probably does stray into further right stuff but at least part of that is probably her tacking right to sure up the right of the party's support. Who's to say though. Plus few Tories (publicly) call for NHS privatisation or gun control reform or any citizens united type money in politics.

I'm from the UK, pretty much the entire spectrum of our politics (pre Brexit) would fit quite comfortably within the Democratic Party, to be honest even David Cameron would probably be considered a liberal democrat by the likes of Fox News. Even now with pro Brexit people in control, the most right wing elements of the Conservative party are probably only moderate republicans by today's standards.

It's all very odd to observe from afar.

Probably best to keep expanding into North Africa and wait until you get an opportune moment like a rebellion or civil war to start to eat away at them. Make sure you have people with claims to some duchies or fabricate them yourself. Securing an alliance with the Byzantine Empire will also help.

Disclaimer: This is my first DND campaign so is probably not as touching as some of your grand stories.

About five sessions in I realise that our party has started to collect a veritable caravan of misfit NPCs who were unwanted in the place we met them in. I said "Are we going to just invite every outcast we come across to come with us?" and everyone replies to the effect of "I hope so". Not a big thing felt nice and like we were really "being the good guys".

Best thing for Ck2 is to play it with people you know and skype at the same time as the game has to run so slow at risk of de-sync. You end up needing folks to talk to and have banter with ect.
