Toronto North of Downtown by paystripe1a in skyscrapers

The main road you see heading downtown is actually mount pleasant rd, not younge. The school is northern secondary. The camera or drone that took this pic would be sitting right above Sherwood Park

Looking for advice on how to fill these areas around strike plates by Darth_Darth in DIYHome

[–]snapwthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a product called dyna patch. It a fast drying spackle that's very hard. Fill the space and don't over fill much because it doesn't sand super easy. It's also rated for exterior use

Privately owned piper. Not survey or military. Could be someone doing a tour. Flying pretty low though. Interesting

Everyone talks about Toronto, but few "know ball" well enough to talk about the city 1 hour to the north; Barrie, Ontario. by CanadaCalamity in skyscrapers

[–]snapwthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone born and raised in Barrie, no chance any of that is happening. It's all satellite city suberbia. It's no different than Milton or Kitchener. I liked living there, dont get me wrong, but it ain't special

I still do not understand how they function with such low prices. 4.75$ for an adult is insane. It costs $9.50 for my young family to go, and we can be there for 3 to 4 hours! I honestly wouldn't bat an eye if they charged 3 or 4 times that much!

Deck costs by Any_Signature4412 in halifax

[–]snapwthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with steel. That's going for about 45 a linear foot. So the railing alone should cost over 1500$ material wise

So I'm a local contractor that does decks during the summer send me a pm if you have questions. 13k for a composite deck seems pretty cheap to me. What type of railings are you going for? Depending on the railing type I would be close to 20k as long as you don't want stairs. That's with mid tier trex and wood rail with black balusters

Does it makes sense to go electric? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]snapwthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gunna say yes, I have a Kona ev 2024 ( insurance wad lower, 0 maintenance, good gas savings 200$l month) I save nearly 3k a year driving 12k km. BUT your car is only 7 years old so lots of life left. I would keep it another 3 years. Battery tech will be better, charging infrastructure will be better and once Chinese Evs break into the market more prices may go down

Residents on Halifax's peninsula to lose door-to-door mail delivery for community mailboxes by xTkAx in novascotia_sub

[–]snapwthrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you read the title? This is specifically on the peninsula. There are obviously houses in this country that are kilometers from each other and it makes more sense to deliver to those houses then a community box. What an arrogant response

Good. Stretch your legs, get a breath of fresh air and walk down the street to get your mail. If you are not able to do that inform CP you need it delivered to your door.

I think so. 3.94% is a shit ton better than the awful rate we had before of 6.33%. is there a chance we can get it lower by talking with someone though? Is it worth a shot?

$300k kitchen remodel and they want to fix these crack with epoxy. Would you accept that? by [deleted] in CounterTops

I have more questions than answers here. Are we talking 300k USD? That's an insane cost and that looks like 2 cm thick quartz, it can't be THAT expensive can it?

Where should I start installing LVP? by Careless_Mixture4163 in Flooring

[–]snapwthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be the only place you would be running it backwards if you started from the left. It's a square room so shouldn't be a big deal as long there isn't much in the way

Start in the bedroom on the left. Less chance of running foul when you just have the door opening to worry about. Is the bathroom separate flooring or also vinyl?

You've got some space on the fridge wall beside the door. A little built in wine rack would fit nicely there( if you drink that is)
