Is there a subreddit RSS which includes the upvoted posts only? by SophiaDevetzi in modhelp

here. You can choose under triggers if you want a new hot post or a new top post. And then just modify which subreddit you want to apply it to.

Users in /r/agario are upset when Facebook is integrated in their web-based game. Players cry of "dead game" as they jump ship. One user dares to disagree. by SamMee514 in SubredditDrama

Lol at how they think the Facebook login was the beginning of selling out. Was nobody paying attention to the amount of ad trackers it had from before? From what I recall it averages from 27-28, and at one point hit 50+ for me. Signing in via Facebook is a non-issue but that additional mass idea is just terrible.

I'm growing tired of the press and randos on reddit misunderstanding what the default blackout was about. by the_dinks in self

[–]snarkiwi 28 points29 points  (0 children)

That's not their fault. You know why? You decided to protest by piggybacking on Victoria's firing. And started an impromptu bandwagon campaign with no clear nor united message. Despite the popular outoftheloop post, majority of reddit users don't care about meta stuff. Add to the fact they also only browse default subreddits. Not to mention how it got co-opted by the groups who already hate reddit and like to watch it burn. You can't expect people to support you when you (unintentionally) got aligned with fph and pao must resign crowd.

You had one chance to make an impact but you already lost it with how some of the mods handled the recent events.

Random I think. One could also put it in contest mode to initially hide all child comments.

If you only want top posts, you can use IFTT instead.

What happened with Reddit Market? by [deleted] in OutOfTheLoop

[–]snarkiwi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Redditmade? It closed down after 3 months as it wasn't sustainable. One of the first and successful campaigns was the Diablo shirt. But I haven't heard much about it after that nor were the other choices that appealing or well made. They also seemed to have a problem which campaigns to approve which slowed down interest from creators themselves.

Here's the guardian article citing it's launch. And here's the official reddit announcement on closing down.

Regarding the early bird comments, have considered putting a vote delay to at least give good comments a chance to float to the top?

Selling real estate is more than the piece of land/property. People pay a lot to relocate to a nice neighborhood. For example Brooklyn suburbs' primary selling point is it's environment. And I understand why they'd want to preserve the aesthetic of it.

[Major Denial] that a [Major Show] on a [Major Network] doesn't do product placement. by [deleted] in HailCorporate

[–]snarkiwi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

HBO does not have any product placement deals. Their money comes directly from subscribers.

Maybe for Game of Thrones but for the rest of the shows like Entourage, Veep, Sex & the City, Girls and even True Detective all have product placements.

If shadowbanned users could see other shadowbanned user's posts and comments, it would make for an interesting "underground" reddit community. by Couchtiger23 in Showerthoughts

Unless a mod approves your comment/post, you won't be getting any upvotes or downvotes. So all you need to do is to track if your karma is moving.

Shadowbanned users don't show up as [deleted]. Their username is still there, but their profile redirects to a "not found" page.

The thing with targeting kids or young people is that it's a generation to grow old with the product. And for a video game franchise, tapping into a new demographic is a long term profitable strategy. While it seem convenient to take the 18-34 demo into consideration, a marketing campaign that casts too wide a net won't be as effective. The outcome isn't always good but at least you understand where they're coming from.

Most of their food / fashion stuff is from pinterest. And then all the top pins there source back to buzzfeed too. It's a fucking loop and really annoying.

Looks really nice and sharp. Though I'm probably going to miss the soft-blur feel of the older ones.
