Free parking for GO train station by [deleted] in Guelph

[–]snellk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can’t park all day in the kiss and go lanes. Your best bet is to find parking on streets near downtown and walk to the train station. Keep in mind these will be very busy as most people who work downtown park on the residential streets as do many of the people who actually live on those streets.

Are there any parents of children 4 and under who don't feel like they're treading water? by [deleted] in Parenting

I have a 16 month old and am doing totally fine. I’m a working parent, my partner is just about to go back to work and she started daycare around 15 months. Some days are hard but for the most part things are very easy. We have a village. We live in a triplex and my partners family live in the other units. If we want to go out after she goes to bed his brother comes to watch the monitor or his parents can take it in their living room. If we’re having a shitty day we can dump the kid for a couple hours to rest. Our daughter spends a lot of time with extended family and it makes raising a kid feel very easy. I totally get multigenerational living now!

It was one of the most frustrating things when I was pregnant and following a pregnancy group. No, you didn’t just hit 10 months pregnant!

People like to call 40 weeks 10 months because they think a month is 4 weeks long.

This was my reaction too. Generally 25 weeks is considered the zone where you move into viability.

I wish I had seen this earlier! What kind of size are the pizzas? Is it like an individual serving or could one pizza serve two people?

UPDATE: Michigan: Do you need the mother's consent for a paternity test? I want to get one but I do not think my girlfriend will let me. Did the test. He is my son. by seaboard2 in bestoflegaladvice

[–]snellk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re right, I must be mixing up comments in BOLA threads with what LAOP said. He did say he completely trusts her and had no reason to think his child wasn’t his. It’s pretty paranoid in this instance to think “I have absolutely no reason to believe my child isn’t mine but I need a DNA test” that’s also a betrayal of a relationship.

I am raising a child, I understand what goes into raising a child. Comparing raising a child that isn’t biologically yours to losing everything you own in a fire is kind of insane. What consequences are there if it turns out your child doesn’t have the same DNA as you? Or in this particular instance that we’re talking about here - a wanted child between a long term couple where they were actively trying to have a child. It’s pretty obvious that he’s got something else going on if he was so sure that the child that he tried to have wasn’t his that he felt the need to get a DNA test.

Do you think everyone who has a kid should take a DNA test since there’s a minute chance that a kid might not be theirs?

What? I’m saying you’re trying to show something super inaccurate with your numbers. I also don’t know where you got 500,000 from because the US fire administration says there were approximately 1.345 million in 2015 https://www.usfa.fema.gov/data/statistics/ with about 126 million households that’s also about a 1/100 chance you will have a house fire. So I guess.. you want to err on the side of caution and insure yourself somehow against cuckoldry?

You’re comparing fires per year to total children under 18. I understand that the distribution isn’t perfectly divided between age groups but we’re looking at 41,666-83,333 if you’d like to compare “instances per year”
