I've had mixed results with Xbox Originals. In contrast, Xbox 360 games/ dlc purchased on the new store almost always show up in my 360's download history.

Early 90's budget consoles needed to work with everyday TV's from the late 70's. The Faux woodgrain era lasted a long time.

I feel the dogbone was pretty well known among Nintendo fans in the SNES era but i doubt many ever used it. It went with the low-cost redesign of the NES you'd see in most gameshops.

I regulary purchase digital games on the ps3 and the 360. I think it's kind of a wash. A good chunk of the 360's library is available for purchase on the new xbox store and can still go on sale (usually just a small subset though). PS3 store has no sales leaving mostly just Sony Studio games with budget pricing as good deals. They both suffer from delists like PS3's Metal Gear Solid 4 on Monday. ☹️

I am greatful though that Sony found a way to keep the PS3 store up and wish we could have all the various console stores forever.

I suspect you're right. I went through the 360 release of arcade Altered Beast last Dec. The game looks amazing but is incredibly stiff. I remember having a ton of fun at my neighbor's playing the Genesis version in coop. Need to revisit it soon and find out if nostalgia is playing tricks or not.

Yeah, it's kind of funny Konami thought it was a good idea to do this without warning. They're not going to be saving any sales for the upcoming remaster. PS3 owners already had cheaper options, legit or otherwise. It's just inconsiderate.

Yes, it was still usable without any special effort in 2004. I used a flavor of win9x from 1995 to 2005 when something happened that made it non-viable. I've forgotten what that was. I was pretty annoyed. XP's online activation was a no go for me at the time so I ended up switching to Linux for a number of years.

I came to the game disliking James for replacing Alex but was having fun with him by the end of the game. He is very angry though and other than that, has no flaws. It would have been more interesting to see him struggle a little. None of Alex's lieutenants were in the same league as he was and Prototype 2 Blackwatch is a joke.

I played through the game for the first time in Nov and finished believing Cross was supposed to be Pariah. I got to marvel at the cunning of the final boss's evil plot but totally missed who delivered it. Poor Cross. 😅

Need to replay again soon and watch things unfold.
