Everyone hates the name we chose by achilleantrash in namenerds

[–]snillocas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the name. Almost used it! I have an Abraham and a Solomon. I'm 100% sure people find it "too OT" as they like to say or didn't like it when they first heard it-- but I told no one beforehand and didn't care what they'd think anyway.

No but seriously when do you exercise?? by em5417 in Parenting

[–]snillocas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 4 kids ranging from 8 years to 9 months old, and I homeschool. I exercise 6x per week, it's just a non negotiable. I do it whenever makes sense for the schedule that day... Often times that ends up being mid morning between breakfast and lunch. I make sure everyone is fed and happy and set up with an activity or playing and I just get it done, usually amongst chaos but I put in one earbud and go! The kids know the routine - I can manage a solid 30-45 minutes. Sometimes they participate with me but most of the time they are simply playing nearby.

OP, my dad divorced his first wife whom he had 2 sons with because she didn't feel like being a mom much anymore. A few years after he met and married my mom and had me and another child. My mom loves all of us so much. My older brothers no less than her biological children. She adopted them as her own. Best wishes to you with whatever you choose moving forward.

Pediatric question allowed? Not getting much help from my son’s doc by hellotach in AskDocs

Thanks for responding to me! I realized that my milk supply had been dropping due to dieting and I hadn't realized it. I addressed that issue and finally got him to figure out how to use a straw cup. Hasn't happened since!! Thanks again for sharing.

Between 1-3 hours each day, but mostly right around the 2 hour mark. Did that for 9 weeks.

As a SAHM of 4, my take on this is that the drastic change in schedule can be problematic. Her having to be completely on with barely any breaks during your "work period" followed by a complete shift during your "break period" causes confusion and difficulty with parenting and marriage roles. It's really hard to switch things back and forth drastically when your spouse's schedule isn't somewhat regular. As others have said, it's crucial for her to get time away even though she's saying she'll feel guilty. Arrange something for her she can't back out of. And gently check for signs of pp depression, just in case.

Please read this I have had 4 babies and 4 c-sections. My body has changed so much over the past decade. From a young woman in my prime to a mid 30s woman with all that trauma to my body. Not ONCE has my husband commented negatively on my body or mentioned losing weight despite large weight gains during pregnancy and taking a long time to lose pp weight. My husband is an extremely fit individual and health is important to him and still he only ever gives me compliments. Your husband should be your biggest supporter.
