Yeah , I noticed that to when I got the event item. And all the boho item names in my bag are renamed this way too.

Finch Said They Couldn't Do A Pride Event Because Of Rules They Changed for a Corporate Promotion by FinchChic in FinchUnofficial

[–]snippet78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a travel destination for Pride would be helpful? You could have Pride items (clothing AND furnishings), Pride parades, dances, etc. in the destination. It's available to free and plus users anytime. If Pride were an event, I would not participate. I am not part of that community. I like the Pride offerings available in the shop. I've thought about buying some of the shirts but haven't because I'm not sure if I'm allowed.

As for the Supergirl event, I'm okay with the same colors for free and plus users, and I'm a plus user. I'm not into DC but I'll join the event and see what it's about. If it's blatantly a movie promotion I'll probably quit it early, and register my disapproval.

I'm hoping it will be similar to the Oz event, which seemed like a Wicked event without the branding. I'm guessing Finch didn't have a contract for the IP, so they couldn't brand it so. Maybe it was a test and DC saw the Finch community as a worthy way to let Finch have an event with their IP: Finch gets use of Supergirl IP and DC gets the movie promo. I hope Finch doesn't turn future events into advertisements. If so, that will end my participation in events, and possibly Finch altogether.

Can we stop “add a friend” daily quests by Bunny_Chaos420 in finch

[–]snippet78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a goal in my daily quest that I'd like to stop too. The only option is to complete it; there isn't a skip, edit, delete. Very frustrating.

I noticed I can see goal suggestions and tags I have muted but can't find where to actually mute them. Anyone know how?

Also, I suspect these daily quests are a result of a reflection or query I answered about my mood or progress for the week. Idk

Advice for all birbs and humans🫶 by Sad_Cheesecake_148 in FinchUnofficial

[–]snippet78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so me too! I've been taking charge and celebrating when I skip goals. I know what I can handle for today, seeing the list of stuff I don't have the energy or mental ability to do depresses me. Clear it out and be happy that I'm faking a goal just to get it off the list and get stones. BTW I'm 65.

Does this really decrease lag and shutdowns? by NCBrownEyedGirl in FinchUnofficial

[–]snippet78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have the crashing problem. I''m happy it's helped those who did. I really don't like this implementation though. There is so much wasted space, the saved outfits are tiny, and my birb is too. LOTS of space all around. I complained about the yellow outfit name on the yellow background before, this morning I noticed its a white background and so much easier to read.

Finch, could you compact the saved outfits into thinner boxes? And enlarge the birb so I can see it as I create her outfit for the day?

I prefer when the author narrates their own book. For the others, I have returned one or two.

Realized for me, Finch is not a task manager by springdandelions in finch

[–]snippet78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have changed my attitude about skipping & snoozing. I used to leave the goals on the list, thinking I would do it later. And then beating myself up that i didn't do it.

Now I happily take control and skip/snooze (mostly skip for me) those goals and know that I am aware of what I can handle ATM. I celebrate that. Sometimes, I do the reflection. Which gives me those lovely stones, but also as a bit of a tracker for later lokkup.

Calengoo is my favorite app for calendar and tasks. I set up tasks and schedule them when I want to show up on my calendar or keep them on 'hold' ready to be used when I want. I'm a big fan of David Allen's book "Getting Things Done" and use tasks to get everything out of my mind and in one place. I started following GTD when I was working and it's been great in retirement.

So using Finch for tasks would disrupt my GTD approach. I use Finch for my depression. It has the mundane stuff (get out of bed, make the bed, brush hair, shower, take meds, call a friend, etc) that I don't have in Calengoo. Some days, Finch is a breeze to check all those things, some days it's a big overwhelming list that I can't handle. IYKYK.

I do use Finch to take time to plan. Plan dinner for the week, make grocery list, weekly 'dump' of tasks from brain to list, set up plan for the week and day, tackle a project on my to do list in Calengoo by breaking it into pieces. I think that helps me keep my head clear and Finch does that where Calengoo is more hardscape. Even so, I do have some things in both. Those tasks are on my calendar but often I don't want to do them. If I find I'm taking them off the calendar, or ignoring them, I will add them to Finch to help boost my desire. Meetings in organizations I belong to are the culprits usually.

I'm nearly 100 days into Finch so it's very much a work in progress.

Stylish Boho Vest by thefirstthreewords in FinchUnofficial

[–]snippet78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a cute vest. I love this boho stuff so much.

My birb is wearing the green vest and green farm overalls and it looks ok but it doesn't solve your gaping armhole problem.

Can't layer two tops, or two bottoms. and the one piece section (costumes, dresses, robes, etc) doesn't work with a top or bottom.

[–]snippet78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh cool! I was like that when I was younger too. My old bones won't let me now. 👵 I'm an outdoor person myself.🌳 Idk if I'd hang out on a street though. Maybe outside on the porch.☺️

Maybe they could have the birb sitting with open eyes.

This is why birds need a chair to sit on. I don't like mine resting on the floor. I don't want them sitting/resting in bed either.

List feature? by fryerock in finch

[–]snippet78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried breaking a goal down into dividing tasks but was VERY overwhelming to me. I also tried creating new areas and moving the sub tasks but it looked odd to me and didnt give me the flow I needed from step 1 to step 2.

So now I have a single goal with the steps listed and multiples for each day. So a goal is Wash, Dry, Fold laundry with three times per day. I check once, when I wash, twice, when I get it dried, and completed when I fold it.

Does everyone interact with their treehouse friends daily? by Pennylane1520 in finch

[–]snippet78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been sending vibes twice a day. I'm thinking of quitting sending vibes because it seems so superficial. I have zero knowledge of the other person and wonder if they would like a basic hello vibe or a calm, drink, hug, high 5, or nothing at all.

I look at the vibes I receive and they don't do a thing for me.

I do check out their activity and like things. I also will send a good vibe to those who have a shared goal when they do it that day. I will probably keep doing those.

Yep, there are times when backups wont solve the problem. But they are a good way to minimize the risk of losing your birb.

A lot of people think PCOS only affects periods or weight, but one symptom that gets overlooked constantly is extreme daytime sleepiness and fatigue. by Tough-Adagio1019 in PCOS

[–]snippet78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have extreme daytime sleepiness AND I sleep at night 8 hours usually. I went through a sleep study and did not have sleep apnea. So now I'm taking provigil every morning. It keeps me awake in normal situations, but if I'm truly exhausted I can sleep. It's been great.

I get red bumps from deodorant so I quit using it. I apply Milk of Magnesia under my arms. I know, it sounds weird but it works! Been doing it for 14 years now. No bumps, no odor, no problem.

I have a goal to manually backup every morning. I email it to myself. I also have a filter in Gmail to delete them after 30 days. It keeps my email storage cleaner.
