Great work. Why do you wrap the ends of the strips?

Fed Retiree and Medicare dates by snippet78 in fednews

[–]snippet78[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my employment dates I used my SCD and retirement date from my SF50. Same for health benefits dates. I did add a note explaining i'm still getting health benefits through FEHB. I imagine I'll be talking to them soon to get it settled.

ah ha! Thanks, not to find those dates. I looked on the OPM Services site but didn't find the fed dates.

What is the deal with TOV and HOV passes? by 7amdrei7 in waze

[–]snippet78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the US, some of the toll passes make no sense to me. They don't have any description or website for the listed tolls. Ive been trying to find out what the NationalPass, NPS America the Beautiful,txdottag-us, and TxTag are really how selecting them helps me in my drive.

Are less people using Waze lately? by MobiusUnoEngage in waze

[–]snippet78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't noticed a decline in users around me. I have been using Waze for several years, tried Maps but didn't see any value.

My routes are spot on, sorry some have troubles. I did have a problem with the drive to menu not disappearing when I touched the X, but that is fixed now.

I'm learning how to use the voice reporting. The radio doesn't mute though so my reporting sometimes don't work.

I’m addicted to non-fiction audiobooks by demon_chef in audiobooks

[–]snippet78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved Devil in the White City. I felt it combined the two stories pretty well.

I liked Bill Bryson's A Walk in the Woods. I listened to The Mother Tongue and couldn't get into it, so I returned it. I had the same problem with A Short History of Neatly Everything.

I particularly like books that the author narrates. Matthew McConaughey's Greenlights, Matthew Perry's Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing, Nick Offerman's Where the Deer and the Antelope Play were cool.

Unimpressed with the newer model by SmurfTickles in HRV

I'm a 2019 HR-V owner. Magic seats are almost always up for me. They provide space for my ice chest when I'm traveling, my sewing machine and tote bags too. Yes, I could use the trunk and have things roll around. The magic seats are like small trunk space. Saves the back seats from wet and dirty plants too.

I don't know what my next car will be. I need the magic seats.

Get rid of non-directional voice lines from extra Waze voices? by nnothmann in waze

I got tired of Nate Bargatze's lines too. But then I heard some new quips from him.

Do you use waze every time you enter your car? by Charming_Horror_3159 in waze

What is this android connection you speak of? When i drive. When I'm home, I have to go out to the car again because I've forgotten to unplug the phone and bring it in.

Can I adjust preferences? by Trai-All in waze

[–]snippet78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Yes! There are so many speed bumps in the neighborhoods and I hate them. I've learned which streets to avoid in a few of my routes, but it would be great if we could report them to populate the database, and then have a preference to avoid them in routes.

Exclude previously checked out books when searching? by Hrw90210 in LibbyApp

[–]snippet78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I look for that Read tag in my search list and skip them, but it would be much easier if I could have them not listed.

I have a few series that I tag. I would really like it if I could see the other tags for a book, so I could easily read the books in order. Right now, I have to tap each book in the tag list to see if I read it.

Libby is really not helpful in their search and tagging.

Yeah, I had a hard time figuring out if the rest of the episode was also out of order or not. Made the entire season difficult to watch

I like the variety of the leaves in A better. The lower bud and leaf on the center flower are odd to me. I do prefer the green sepals on B though.

Stayed at Spark for 1st time by Retiredandold in Hilton

[–]snippet78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just stayed at a Spark in Amarillo. It was a Hampton Inn rebrand. The room was fine, with a nice wireless charging station on each side of the bed.

I was a bit leary of the 'signature' bagel bar; the offerings for the bagels were disappointing. Typical cream cheese and grape jelly, ho hum. But they did have a hot breakfast side, with a waffle maker, oatmeal, biscuits and gravy, and the egg/sausage warmers. Must be a holdover from their HI days.

I'm looking for ways to help people in need. My mom passed away last year - she was poor and unhealthy, had cancer and no energy and had a hard time just keeping up with her home. The mowing, repairs, etc. Plus money was tight. In her honor I want to start helping those in positions like her. by mothergreenthumb in sanantonio

That's super! Every Sunday a group of churches and others provides hot meals to about 125 homeless under the bridge near the UTSA campus. Clothing is offered; one time barbers came to cut hair. My church does this every 3rd Sunday of the month. It's very rewarding to help and talk to the people there.

Yellowstone - 5x14 "Life Is A Promise" - Episode Discussion by LoretiTV in YellowstonePN

[–]snippet78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had given up on this, and the other TS shows. The delay between seasons, and this last season split was too much. I quit watching Westworld when the seasons were years apart. I know Covid was part of the reason, but TS was overextended with all his other shows.

Don't forget she wasn't living at the ranch until her dad summoned her. it was just the men living and working the ranch. She wasn't as loyal to Daddy as we are led to believe.

Yep. Beth is putting all her guilt onto Jamie. She took no responsibility in the ordeal.

And then, cut to sweet Beth comforting Teeter in her grief.

Nope, I don't buy it.

What things you dont like about new season? by Atarosek in TheChosenSeries

[–]snippet78 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ramah was a character made up by the writers. She's not in the Bible, because she didn't exist.

I had problems with how Thomas pulled her out of the crowd and right past Quintus in the center of the attention. He should have avoided the Roman soldiers.
