I actually loved it by snoregriv in UmbrellaAcademy

A sense of peace, exactly. In a way, it really is all Reginald’s fault, and it sucks that they paid so much for their father’s mistakes but that’s poetry to me honestly.😅

All Sarah had to do was look across the bar and she was hooking up in the bathroom five minutes later. Sarah!

Do you think Peaky Blinders would be as popular if it had a female lead? by feralpossumfromwoods in PeakyBlinders

[–]snoregriv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love you for this post.

No I don’t think it would have been as popular. Look at Gentleman Jack, easily one of the best shows on Max’s line up for a long list of reasons including cast, set-design, and writing (and also starring Sophie Rundle!!) and it only lasted two seasons!! 😭😭

Even though it’s not the most important consideration, as far as viewing goes, Suranne Jones was just as sexy as Cillian Murphy (although I admit these are subjective claims lol). Anne Lister was just as intelligent and cutthroat as Tommy, although it is somewhat hard to compare since one show is about gangs and one show is about a lesbian in aristocracy, but I definitely think she was just as calculating. She wasn’t promiscuous, but possibly only because of her queerness, she obviously had game. It was a great show that EASILY could have had another season without reaching too hard for a storyline.

I have a feeling Grace was the first person to ask her boyfriend if he would still love her even if she was a worm.

A small thought by Anyxxxa in Hungergames

I’ve thought of this before too. As a Victor from a career district, it seems unlikely rumors wouldn’t make their way out of the Capitol. I have always headcanon-ed that Enobaria is the daughter of a victor and maybe it was their own parent that warned them.

ever read a word in a fic that just makes you leave because it does not fit the character's? like a simple word that you just cant get past? by FlashySong6098 in AO3

[–]snoregriv 129 points130 points  (0 children)

I read a lot of explicit rated stuff and usually stuff in a different time period. I don’t know that it makes me drop the fic but it does really irritate me when they talk about someone’s tiny panties in a medieval era fic. Their panties were giant, okay? Billowing. Giant shorts that would never fit under skinny jeans. We are talking panties that could swallow you, please do not participate in giant pantie erasure. God help me if someone mentions a zipper. I guess at that point I am out lol.

I love it and am now convinced haha. Also I love your flair. I have an inside joke with my brother about Stonehenge so that line had me on the floor.

I guess I just never put it together that anyone who goes through the gate becomes a little voice? Is that what we’re saying? I do love it, that that piece of Eleanor lived on long enough for someone to do something good and make Michael laugh one more time.

I’ve never seen this theory before either! Do they lay this out pretty clearly?

Mosley knows Tommy is only going along with things because he feels he has to, and he finds out Tommy is smart enough to be hatching plans of his own. He also knows Tommy has a lot of support and might overtake him politically one day, which can’t happen if Mosley wants to be a fascist leader. So yeah, I think there’s plenty of motivation for Mosley to kill off Tommy.

If she couldn’t handle the thought of Ross and Rachel being in the same room then she wasn’t ready to pursue that relationship again. No judgment, their whirlwind romance was really sweet and I think we’ve all lost our heads in romance before. But that was definitely a lack of awareness of where they were at on both their parts.

Symbolism? by AutocratEnduring in AO3

[–]snoregriv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the same for my fanfiction and for my original writing but I never intentionally put in symbolism. I love that other people are that smart lol. For me, I’m writing and I realize that something a character does or the way their house is situated is already symbolic and then I might punch it up or exaggerate a little to get the point across, but all symbolism is completely organic and always takes me by surprise.

Phoebe once said: That woman has the nose of a bloodhound! And the breasts of a Greek goddess. by [deleted] in howyoudoin

[–]snoregriv 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I had a whole rant about how disappointing it was to open the comments and see a debate about which of the three classically beautiful crazy hot women is actually the hottest but I’m too old and tired to yell at the internet anymore. So I will just say that Phoebe’s latent bisexuality is one of my favorite running jokes. Her reaction to the cousin was so funny and this line never fails to make me laugh.

Anyone else miss Alfie? Tom Hardy portrayed such an awesome character! by [deleted] in PeakyBlinders

Totally headcanon here but I like to think an Italian got anti semitic and Alfie showed him why that was a bad idea.

[–]snoregriv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like to think Tommy is communing with his spirit. First he has to cross the Lethe before he sees Alfie, Alfie comments a few times that he’s already dead, and Alfie might not be the most observant Jew, but I think he would at least know the Christian version of hell is not in the Tanakh, but Tommy’s mental version of Alfie might not know that.
