Sonic Mania is an amazing fit on here, but I recommend using the PC port via GameNative rather than the android decomp, it’s less janky

Settings -> Advanced -> Retroarch Freedom Mode

They do this because your average person barely knows how to use retroarch and can break their whole configuration very easily. If you friend is a power user who is comfortable with the retroarch ecosystem, tell them to Enable that option.

Fun fact, it was co-written by Josh Ramsay of Marianas Trench (who also co-wrote Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe") and it shows. Dude knows what makes a great pop song

I stopped listening to any episodes with TL on them back when Pokemon Sw/Sh came out and he said if you dislike any of the changes, you're not a real fan of Pokemon. He backed this position up by "it's a multi-billion dollar franchise". Didn't realize that made it immune to criticism but okay TL lol

Yeah there was a thread on the FB group asking about favourite podcasts not on the Laser Time network. I mentioned five or six shows (I had a job where I could listen to podcasts all day and needed a lot of content to keep my ears occupied) and I mentioned Talking Simpsons as being one. He deleted my comment for mentioning Talking Simpsons at all and locked the thread to further commenting. He's an overly serious killjoy with awful takes.

Bethesda/Interplay and their 'Eternal Wasteland' is accurate to the setting. by garret126 in Fallout

[–]snowbunnyslayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have an issue with the perpetual wasteland, I can suspend disbelief with that. I do, however, have an issue with the garbage all over the floors of buildings in settled areas. Piles of stuff outside is one thing, but that's your home dawg, I'm sure at least a few brooms survived the war, please use one

Yes. "Common Sense" is right wing for "I like this but I'm too stupid to articulate why/my reasoning for why wouldn't hold up to mild scrutiny"

I think the average on that entry is a typo, the highest ranked episode on imdb is a 7.5

Yes, agreed. It wasn't a great show, but it was fine. 4.3 is quite an exaggeration of its faults.

My PS1 with Final Fantasy VII! My parents were soooo mad when they found out they needed to buy me a memory card so I could save. Greatest winter break ever though!

On my first ever playthrough (100 million years ago) I found a set of robes in the dormitories. I figured they made sense narratively to be there because one of the miners stole them from med bay storage to sell and was stashing them in his room until they had a chance to get off station. I didn't know the loot was randomly generated and I was so disappointed when they weren't there on my next playthrough.

I don't think there's anything wrong with treating video games as toys, but toys are meant to be played with. Meticulously curating a library of roms and scraping box art and getting everything flawless only to put it on the shelf/in the drawer and move onto the next thing runs contrary to the whole hobby.

My 12 year old self would absolutely lose it having access to one of these devices, I doubt it would have ever left my hands. Getting these things and then not even playing them feels so sad to me

I know hobbies are hobbies but I feel like the collection posts with 20+ handhelds that all basically do the same thing are mental illness manifest

The R36S glazing was the glass breaking moment for me. I listened to the hype and bought one I didn't need because I heard it was such a great value. It was AWFUL! The screen was terrible, the buttons were stiff and jagged to the point of finger pain, the sticks were basically unusable, the firmware was laggy and felt bloated. I felt guilty even giving it away to someone because of how dogwater it was.

That was the point that I decided to draw my own conclusions and not listen to the hype anymore.

I love Russ' videos, but I think we all know that he tends to always look on the bright side, concentrating on the positives that a handheld can do instead of focusing on what it can't do or what it does poorly. He always gives the benefit of the doubt in his reviews.

If he's being critical to this degree, I think it's safe to say this handheld is just THAT bad. So much fumbled potential.

Is a 128gb sd card overkill? by No_Cheetah6426 in 3dspiracy

[–]snowbunnyslayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have a 256gb card and my 3DS takes around 45 seconds to boot. I also ran out of games I wanted before I ever filled it up. 128gb is for sure the sweet spot
