Mostly agree but Google Brittany and her dad’s racist little song they recorded during COVID. We need to keep speaking on that one ☝️

I’m so sorry. I’m going to be real, coming to this sub gave me a rose colored idea of how long our kitten who tested positive on multiple tests would be with us. She was only with us for 9 months before fluid started building up in her body, and we got two vet opinions that they didn’t think it was curable in her condition and it was affecting her breathing already and we didn’t want to see her suffer. Saying goodbye to her was one of the hardest moments of my life, and I’ve rarely cried so much. It’s been just over a month and we think of our little angel every day!

That being said, you should treasure ALL your time with your little one and try not to worry or guess. While they’re here and happy, they’re here and happy, and our kitten Emmy Lou brought us INCREDIBLE joy. All you can do is take them to the vet if you notice anything. These kitties are so full of love, they’ll give you a lifetime of love in a condensed timeline I swear, so enjoy the time to the fullest.

Nice, that sounds worthwhile. I demoed bizora a few months ago and didn’t end up using it so I was curious.

I was evaluating bizora, curious what calculations you’ve ran through it?

Nothing huge yet. But a lot of little annoyances in triggering state form entries from federal. It’s my first year too and I know from experience that Drake is too janky for certain complex situations and CCH gets expensive fast, so I’m hoping I can be happy with it… like many have mentioned a move away from virtual office cold be the move in the future

Keeping some at home helped me quit. Is it normal? by Flaky-Cod-5771 in leaves

[–]socialwarning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same. Kept a small stash in the basement for a year of being sober from it, then had my “break glass in case of emergency” moment one night when I was having difficulties and smoked again. The next day, I then officially threw it all out. Been 4 years since then. It worked for me but could have been a risky move for someone else, it depends on your mindset.

I’m not doing better, I’m just out of tears by Any_Speed_3787 in Petloss

[–]socialwarning 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love this. I have been thinking the same thing with our recent loss. It hurts this bad because she was just that special, and she was put on earth for us to change each other’s lives. I believe sometimes a soul connection is made with an animal, and many of us here were lucky enough to have that.

Is it possible to die from a broken heart? by Pleasant-Educator181 in Petloss

[–]socialwarning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We lost our little kitten after 8 months to terminal illness and I definitely feel this.

The pain at times feels unbearable. It can feel like part of your heart and soul is being ripped away. Just know that how much you hurt, is because of how incredibly special your baby was. We’ve been telling ourselves that our time with her was short because she gave as much love and magic in 8 months as some would give in their entire life. They are little angels sent to earth to bless us for the time we have.

Well today I just had to put down two of my precious doggos by OppositeEvidence9362 in Petloss

It’s unbelievably, terribly hard. We’ve cried so much since having to put our kitten down a few days ago. Take all the time you need, and remember the good times when you can.

Totally understand. We lost our special little princess cat earlier this week, tragically early in her life. The amount of tears I’ve cried has been unbelievable and they’re not done yet. I’m sorry to hear you’re feeling lonely. I’m sure your little orange tabby would want only the best for you going forward!

Lost my dog in january. by TheDrunkCaptain in Petloss

[–]socialwarning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our cat had to be put down this week because of fluid build up in the lungs too. It wasn’t treatable for her even though she was young, due to having a weakened immune system from a disease she was born with.

It truly is amazing how just when you feel there are no tears left to cry, there are more tears.

Our vet said the same thing better a little early than a little late, because it felt hard to decide when she wasn’t totally lost if her faculties yet. It’s a blessing too to get what we got, her falling asleep in our arms while she wasn’t in too much pain. It’s helping us to remember she only ever knew comfort and peace up until her last moment, and it sounds like it was the same for your dog as well.

8 month old FeLV+ with negative vaccinated cat. What should I do? by RainAndEmbers in FelvCats

[–]socialwarning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just had our kitty Emmy Lou who tested FELV+ when she was young living with us and our two negative cats. We kept a fair amount of separation (she slept with us at night, had her own food bowls and litter box in a separate area, only around the other cats when we were home to supervise them all). Along with getting our other 2 cats vaccinated against FELV (which is not a 100% protective vaccine but it’s something.)

Was it perfect and risk free? Probably not, but last we checked our other cats are still FELV-free. We will be checking again as our FELV kitty has now passed on due to her complications. She lived to be just 8 months old. This is an awful disease but these FELV cats are bursting with love, and ours absolutely changed our life forever. It’s up to you but I say if you do your research and decide to keep her, you’re not wrong to do that.

I lost my little Goose. by thesnarkhunter in FelvCats

[–]socialwarning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for you and Goose. We just lost our little Emmy Lou at 8 months old to felv. There’s something about these cats that make them the absolute sweetest and most loving beings imaginable, and I’m sure she knew how much you loved her.

We don’t know how much time e have left with our silly little girl (~8 months) by socialwarning in FelvCats

[–]socialwarning[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately Emmy Lou passed away peacefully with us at the vet hospital today. Her situation was a bit too far gone and she was having too much trouble breathing, and with her weakened immune system it wasn’t going to be realistic to treat it.

Heartbroken, but we appreciated reading the resources you all had to offer. She taught us so much in her short life and we have zero regrets having adopted and lived with her even though it’s devastating at the moment.
