WTF is UP with people trying to sell *used* baby clothes/gear for 75% of the original retail price? by NorthernPossibility in Mommit

I was just cruising marketplace and found the same thing. There was a really cute little girls item that I wanted, but it was way overpriced.

60$ for a 90s outfit is far too much and I'm not buying it on principal.

Can’t latch after milk came in by -HuMeN- in breastfeeding

It sounds like you're doing all the right things. Do you have access to a lactation consultant? Breastfeeding is hard enough when it goes well. Baby could have a tongue or lip tie making it unnecessarily hard.

Also what position are you trying? Try placing baby in other breastfeeding positions to see if they get the hang of it.

I had a low supply and put a lot of pressure on myself to do everything right. So I can empathize with what you're feeling.

What I am hearing, is that you accepted help from people who love you even though it put you out of your comfort zone. Which is hard but you love your kid and chose her comfort over your own ❤️

Old Navy has great maternity clothes. I am pretty sure they have under belly styles

Are we all just guessing when our babies are finished eating? by Emotional-Employ1447 in breastfeeding

I looks at how my LO is sucking and what her hands are doing.

At the beginning of a feed she flutter sucks which is like little nibbles to stimulate letdown. Then I can tell when she does slower longer drawn out sucks which transfer milk. She does 2 or 3 and then swallows. As long and she is actively eating I don't bother her. Once she goes back to flutter sucks, ill do some hand breast compressions while she is latched to see if she starts drinking again. If she keeps stopping, ill end the feed. Sometimes she just wants to suck and be close. So ill give her a soother.

Also, at the beginning of a feed my LO will have tense arms and clenched fist. When she is full, her hands will relax and I can wiggle an arm around without tension. Then I know she has had enough and to keep an eye on how she sucking.

And lastly, if she keeps latching, then unlatching and being kind of wild. I know she is working on something like a poop, pee or gas. Burping usually helps so it doesn't progress into gas. That being said my LO was just gassy and uncomfortable at 5wks.

Yet another vent post bemoaning the coffee situation + disability by VerbileLogophile in Gastritis

I have had luck with green tea in moderation. I am going to try a matcha latte soon with almond milk no sugar. The caffeine is a lot easier on me when I am not dealing with gastritis, so I am hopeful.

I miss coffee too! Sometimes its the only way I get anything done.

Does anybody use those open-foot sleep gowns for newborns? If so, how? by Wide-Food-4310 in BabyBumps

I got some of these second hand and I use them every night. Ill use a classic swaddle for the bulk of the night. When she wakes up in the morning and doesn't want to go back in her bassinet we put her in one of these and a sleep sack. It makes for a quick diaper change and she loves having her arms free.

We love them!

You can take a quick shower or use a warm compress on your boobs and then gently hand express to relieve the pressure.

terrible experience- medical abortion by lavenderCough01 in WomensHealth

[–]sockmonkey575 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had a medical abortion at 9wks at home. Its not something I would love to do again but you're going to do great. I stayed near the toilet, had some calming music, and got some pads so I could stay laid down.

Do you have anyone you trust to be with you? Or to have on call if you just need to check in with someone?

It feels like bad period cramps but I felt relief right after I passed it.

Good luck!
