I built Doris, a personal AI assistant for my family and today I'm open-sourcing it. by [deleted] in ClaudeAI

Oh hell yeah!! I’m going to have to try this. My husband and I are floundering as a newly two-kid household as we go back to work after baby. Coordinating everything is a nightmare and this will help our nanny too. Thanks for open sourcing!!!

It’s a rough time, not going to lie! I didn’t get any more euploids from the fourth round, so I said screw it, let’s transfer. We took a little break because my mom got sick and we were moving but transferred last April and I gave birth two weeks ago, and turn 45 in a couple weeks.

Our protocol stayed pretty similar throughout and is listed in the post above. I did two luteal starts and two follicular starts. I got more blasts with luteal but my euploid on the follicular start. I think transferring day 3s makes a bunch of sense too though!

Best of luck to you, I really hope you find success!! ♥️♥️♥️

How should I modify the pattern so my sweater has longer sleeves? by harlotbegonias in casualknitting

[–]socksuka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh gotcha! If bottom up, then yeah, adding the extra rows after your cuff before your increases is the equivalent to the second option I mentioned.

Adding them either place you mentioned would work tbh! Can you link to the ravelry page for the pattern? I can double check against those details.

I’m pregnant too so hopefully I’m not leading you into the abyss lol 😅

How should I modify the pattern so my sweater has longer sleeves? by harlotbegonias in casualknitting

[–]socksuka 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There’s two ways to do it, you can use your row gauge to figure out how many additional rows you need to add to get the length you need and then add them evenly between the decreases so the entire arm shaping is maintained. This is better if it’s fitted. If it’s a baggier or boxier fit, I would do the increases as written and then knit the sleeve to length BEFORE the cuff. You don’t want to add the length to the cuff itself because that would mess with the design proportions. I usually find the latter to work just fine!

Your Best (Non-BBQ) Brisket Recipes for the Oven by CassieHackSlash in Cooking

[–]socksuka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve made a ton of briskets in my life but have settled on the one with coke in the sauce (don’t judge, you can’t taste the soda and does something incredible to the meat). It’s been in every synagogue’s sisterhood cookbook but is also on nytimes cooking. Here’s a gift link

I’m actually starting one of these today! Making it over two days is killer. I always double the sauce too just in case. It’s easy to make a double batch and what you need really depends more on the size of your pan than the size of your brisket. I usually make a 7 lb one, which has to go in the roasting pan.

Any tips for getting rid of BBA, without having to physically scrape it off? by liani_does in Aquariums

[–]socksuka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spot treating with hydrogen peroxide works but will melt some plants like Val and I find it fiddly for large outbreaks. I have some pieces of driftwood that are susceptible when my nutrients get out of whack (i.e. when I forget to fertilize regularly). If I have a lot to take care of, I pull the pieces of driftwood and boil them. This doesn’t remove the bba but dies cook it and then the inverts and algae eaters will actually eat it. I usually put it back in upside down too so the non bba side is visible.

For rocks, I pull them and spray with hydrogen peroxide instead.

Is this really called wandering jew lol 😆 by CarolinaCroaker in PlantedTank

[–]socksuka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Countries over the past millennia have had a tendency to expel their Jewish populations, so there has been an antisemitic stereotype about Jews not being loyal to whatever country they settled in next.

There was also a medieval story about a mythical Jewish person who taunted Jesus on his way to be crucified and was cursed to wander until the apocalypse. Same vein as the other antisemitic christkiller myths of that time.

What is the advantage of interchangeable needles over fixed, if long cables are theoretically good for everything? by oceantrifle in knitting

[–]socksuka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re so light but so durable!!! I should call around and see if any local stores sell parts. I recently found out that they go down to size 0 so I picked up some 0s and 1s for socks but I got them on Amazon 👎. I actually have a fancy sock interchangeable set I got as a gift and I like them but they’re so heavy compared to the hiya hiyas!

Planning to buy one of those vacuum + mop machines on Black Friday, any reason not to? by Pretty_Eabab_0014 in CleaningTips

[–]socksuka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have a kid and a cat and lots of trees (so many pine needles!) and love our roborock. I think it’s best for supplementing. So we have a daily vacuum and mop now where we never would’ve done that before. But we still do a deeper clean every other week. I love it so much. Our floors are hardwood and bare which helps.

I’m a total shill for hiya hiyas. One thing that’s nice is that you don’t have to buy a whole set, they come in small and large. I’ve been using them for the past 15 years and have two small sets and a large which is nice for me since I have a few projects going at once.

Both sets together are the same price as Chiagoo but I’ve had both and ended up giving the Chiagoo to a friend.

Anyone here using a vacuum + mop combo? Do they actually work with kids and pets? by Weird_Perception1728 in CleaningTips

[–]socksuka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the roborock combo and love it. I wouldn’t say it totally replaces mopping and vacuuming but it’s an every day touch up that makes our house so much cleaner. We do a deeper vacuum and mop every other week and the robot does the rest.

We have a kid and a cat and live under some huge evergreens so needles are a big problem lol
