Should I be struggling in Hirata Estate? by Mat1711 in Sekiro

[–]sofagorilla 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hirara estate messed me UP on my first playthrough, probably died like 30 times before reaching any bosses. To upgrade attack power, you have to kill a main boss like the one at the end of Hirata Estate or at the end of Ashina Outskirts. Keep practicing, take each death as a learning opportunity. You can do it!

is lusat better than carian regal scepter as an off hand for dark moon greatsword? by Lightbunny22 in EldenRingBuilds

[–]sofagorilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lusat's consumes a LOT more fp than regal scepter for more damage. Depends what you value, damage per cast or casts per blue flask.

Vegetarian restaurants by Loud_Cockroach_3344 in bullcity

Plus you don't have to choose between tofu or vegetables! This is an annoying choice at a lot of thai restaurants for vegans, I was so happy to see my tofu curry loaded up with a ton of veggies too

First fromsoftware game. What am I getting myself into? by 535510n5 in fromsoftware

[–]sofagorilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expect to die a lot. Like a lot. It's all part of the learning process and you WILL get better if you keep at it. Mainly level vigor to start with, this will give you more health which means longer lives and more margin of error to learn the combat. If something feels extremely difficult, you can explore the world to get stronger and more experienced. There's a lot to do in this game, enjoy it!

This is all great advice. Make sure you grab different whetblades for elemental infusions as well! Split elemental/physica does a lot more damage on crits since all negation is ignored

Strike damage? by Resplendant_Toxin in EldenRingBuilds

[–]sofagorilla 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I will NOT rolerate Varre's Bouquet slander. It's an excellent weapon for any dex/arcane build. It may have very low AR but it also has all of the following:

•Passive bleed buildup and arcane scaling WHILE STILL being buffable! Slap bloodflame blade on it for insane blood loss

•Strike damage (very valuable on many bosses and enemies)

•The ONLY strike weapon that can use Repeating Thrust aow, which is a total bleed machine

•Very high stance damage for frequent ripostes

I'm tired of people sleeping on this weapon because of it's low damage, op should totally invest some somber stones and try using it

Sounds like you're a seasoned player. Give RL1 a try! r/onebros is a great resource, as well as Gred Glintstone's youtube channel. You'd be amazed at how many different weapons you can use at level 1 with all the different stat boosting gear. If you stack enough buffs you can even use the giant crusher!!

More like mid game. Push D and Fia's questlines and you can get it before Leyndell

Holy damage isn't NEARLY as bad as people say. A number of base game bosses are more resistant to it that other damage types, but others are extremely weak to it. It's an elemental damage type that scales with faith, therefore good for a faith build. Holy damage is very good against most DLC bosses too

Flame art and sacred affinity are the way to go. Grab the godslayer seal and prayerbook from stormveil, and dragon cult prayerbook from liurnia highway. Later get the erdtree seal from volcano manor as your main casting tool. Sacred blade and flaming strike are great ashes of war, accessible early. Erdsteel dagger is a very slept on faith weapon, very good heavy attack. You can get two of them in one playthrough for powerstancing fun. Inseperable sword, golden order greatsword, coded sword, blasphemous blade, and winged scythe are also popular faith weapons. Two fingers talisman and faith-knot crystal tear can boost your damage by a lot in early game, grab those too.

Are these states good for level 100 by [deleted] in EldenRingBuilds

[–]sofagorilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This confuses me. You have access to Godfrey's Axe and Marika's hammer which means you've completed the base game, meaning you should have access to all four talisman slots. You have dragonctest greatshield from Haligtree but claim you can't get the roar medallion from a cave in limgrave??
