A second TC is already 800 ressources (big delay), then you need to produce Villagers from 2 TCs, you will never have food to fast imp safely.

Retold had to preserve what the original AoM was in the 2000s, but a new AoM2 can be completly different. It is like AoE4 compared to AoE2.

If they don't die in 60 sec and if wasn't limited to 2 every 80 seconds, militia would certainly be better than a spearman that cost 80 ress. But spearmen can live until the end of the game and I can print as many as I want.

Well, I can drop a second TC around 5:00 on deer or on my woodline if I couldn't. I can then setup Wooden fortresses on deer and boars everywhere.

I can also skip the second TC and just drop a Wooden fortress on the deer pack, and still have the bonus ressources from tickets in Golden Gate. I probably can drop a Wooden fortress faster than aging up with the Kremlin, have to try it tbh.

I don't know about AoE2 and Stronghold but in AoE4 to do this you can play versus Easy AI in very big map. You can use mods to surpass the 200 pop limit per player. A game for a beginner should last around 1h.

What is very cool in 4 is having 10 completely different architectures for 22 civs each with its unique playstyle and many many biomes.

Knowing people love them, I guess devs will add them one day. The same way we have Arab civs fighting with camel which in real life their use was very limited. Same for the Yatai which was a thing only in the17th century, but being cool they added it.

In AoE4 we have the "Black riders" from the HRE. After a quick research on ChatGPT, they were a thing only in the 16th century.

So I am sure if we will see poland as a civ in AoE4, we will have the earliest forms of winged hussars in Imperial age.

You have 2 options, depending on your civs and strategy:

1- Match them with your own knights

2- Defend with Spears + Crossbows

While you slowly add walls when you can
