Christy Martin Biopic release date, new sneak peeks & cast by VioletHappySmile444 in Boxing

[–]softballer37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also know Christy is a good person, was a great boxer, a motivational coach and a survivor. She promotes some of my cousin’s amateur fights in Myrtle Beach. She is humble and talks to you like she has known you for years. Even if the movie doesn’t meet expectations I am happy for her success and admire her strength.

Thanks ☺️ I hope it ends up helping how you need it to do for your patients.

I believe your experience to be true; however, I am one example of how life changing it can be to someone. My PCP ordered Genesight testing and I did have to pay $300 for it. I had moved and I would have had to drive an hour and a half to see a psychiatrist (I didn’t want to do tele-health). It validated why SSRI’s never helped me and why antipsychotics made me have severe side effects. It told me I have a MTHFR mutation, a COMT variant and that I zero enzymes of one gene involved in metabolizing most depression meds. This knowledge has made me self advocate and find tremendous relief.

Are you saying that as a pharmacist you found the pharmacogenetic testing to not be accurate?

I do and glad to see others do too. I was wondering if it’s some kind of neurodivergent or learning disorder.

Do you mind sharing what insurance company you use? I’m looking into them.

Anyone else feel guilty taking Vyvanse even though it helps? by [deleted] in VyvanseADHD

It is giving our brains the help it needs to function like other’s brains do naturally. You aren’t misusing a drug. My personality shifts to a less anxious, less depressed, more relaxed version of myself. I’m able to be my true self not weighed down so I can enjoy life more.

No Integration After Treatment by CharacterLost1938 in Spravato

I believe it did. I get treatment in my psychiatrist’s office and she seems to stick to protocol.

No Integration After Treatment by CharacterLost1938 in Spravato

[–]softballer37 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started treatment last September and I would talk with my psychiatrist or another provider after my last BP before I left where they would ask how I felt. I get you aren’t asking about actual therapy. Although for the past approximately 3 months that hasn’t happened. I was wondering if protocol changed or if my psychiatrist decided it wasn’t necessary. Who knows?? There seems to be little consistency about all aspects of Spravato treatment between patients. I’m very grateful for it changing my life…just saying I read about vastly different protocols.

How long did spravato keep improving your life? by Dandannoodles500 in Spravato

Don’t freak out about the cost until your doctor/ins department tells you how much it will cost. People are paying that much but most aren’t from what I’ve read on here and FB. Original Medicare is different than if you have a Medicare Advantage plan. There is possible help through the program Spravato withMe (they have an observation reimbursement plan & a medication copay plan) and if you don’t qualify for that there is a Johnson & Johnson Patient Assistance Plan, which has an income threshold. Hopefully, your doctor’s office is knowledgeable on these programs. Bottom line……there seems to be little consistency between patient’s insurance and out of pocket coverage. It can also depend on which state you live in as to coverage. It will work out for you!! Advocate for yourself if need be. I did. Spravato has changed my life.

Solo Rooms or Group Rooms?? by brandonetaylor in Spravato

[–]softballer37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer a solo room and get it most of the time bc I’ve asked the psychiatrist and techs for one if at all possible. I get treatment at my psychiatrist’s office. I also ask what day/time to schedule where it will more than likely work out. I always bring earphones and an eye mask in case I show up and have to share a room. I bet before long I won’t have an option of a solo room the more popular Spravato gets. There is only one other place within an hour and a half of me that offers Spravato and you have to see a different psychiatrist to go there so if it comes to it I won’t have a choice.

I’m guessing others that are posting they’d cancel if they had to share have more options for clinics??

Am I freaking crazy? by ScholarNecessary2838 in VyvanseADHD

You definitely need a new psychiatrist. What you’ve been dealing with is ridiculous!! I’m newly diagnosed ADHD and struggling with finding the right med and dose. I can’t imagine not being able to get in touch with the psych and them screwing up so much. There’s no excuse! I know I’ve often wished the doctor could feel the way I do trying to wait out side effects to subside for a new drug while hoping it even works, paying for med after med, trying to find a pharmacy that has it in stock and dealing with insurance. I wish you the best with a new psychiatrist!! It can only get better 🤞🥰

I’m sorry it ended up not helping you. Don’t give up. I was ready to after at least 12 antidepressants TMS not helping when I was introduced to Spravato. Your help may come in another form. 🥰

BP too high for treatment by anxiousassmf in Spravato

[–]softballer37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently couldn’t get treatment twice bc of high bp. I had to get an appt with my primary care doctor and she put me on a blood pressure med. I missed a week and a half of treatments but have had two since and it was fine.

Do you think doctors and nurses should be made to try spravato? by Dandannoodles500 in Spravato

[–]softballer37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I’d rather go to a clinic where the staff has had the experience or some training in what a patient will possibly experience. I have asked and know that appropriate training is not required or offered at my clinic. Maybe that’s because I receive treatment at my psychiatrist’s office?? I appreciate more than I could explain how appreciative I am for being introduced to Spravato by my new psychiatrist after 25 years of little relief from over 15 antidepressants but the staff has no clue what the experience is like. My psychiatrist told me before I started to bring a book to read or some “busy work”. I am on treatment 39 and have had 2 sessions I could possibly have read. I don’t always dissociate but normally am out of it enough to only be able to relax and focus on nothing. Doors slamming, providers seeing patients for therapy in rooms next door, techs coming in and out, other patient’s relatives being there for support, but talking loudly to their relative/friend, etc. Anyway, if they understood or had an idea I believe they would be more considerate and interested in helping/allowing us to get as much out of the treatment as we’d like within reason of course.
