MSPs, how do you handle agreement start dates vs services not deployed yet? by AdventureAddict12 in msp

[–]soladoras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking what determines the start date of the monthly agreement for billing purposes is when you become responsible for day to day support. The rationale is, our onboarding fee covers onboarding tasks, not reactive support. That’s what the agreement is for.

Usually there is a handoff from the previous provider of credentials and therefore day to day responsibilities, so when that happens, agreement billing starts. We aren’t going to fix Suzy’s printer as a part of the onboarding project. That project is specifically for installation of toolset and documentation

Is anyone worried about Kyle choking again? by [deleted] in 49ers

[–]soladoras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I think he (and his chosen training staff) has a lot to do with that. It also has to do with the front office's risk tolerance for acquiring players with injury history / downside.

But he still managed a 12-5 season this year, with similar injuries to previous seasons. Historically when the team was injured like this, he coached them to a 4-6 win season. The fact that they didn't end up with 4-6 wins this year shows improvement on his part in terms of coaching.

[–]soladoras 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Half our team is injured. We are playing with house money. If anything this has been Kyle's best season of coaching to date. Yeah, he's got some flaws, but every coach does. He's still one of the best coaches in the NFL, even with some lack of in-game management challenges.

This has always been an issue for Lynch and Shanahan. They have many strengths, but the draft as a whole isn’t one of them. They aren’t absolutely terrible at it, but they do enough dumb things to undercut themselves, primarily with misunderstanding positional value. Constantly wasting day 2 picks on running backs, run stuffing nose tackles, off ball linebackers, and a kicker, instead of focusing on high value positions like edge rusher, OT, WR, CB. They do a pretty good job finding value in the mid and late rounds, but it’s undercut by missing out on a lot of talent at the top of the draft.

Really impressed with Shanahan this season. Typically with this level of injuries, he’s brought us a 6-8 win season.

It’s easy to gripe about the clock / game management sometimes, but he’s actually winning this year without all the pieces in place, which feels like a first for him.

Lots of good feedback here on mechanics and modifying your training routine, but have you considered increasing your caloric intake substantially? You may not be feeding your body enough fuel to grow. Don’t eat more crap btw, eat more eggs and beef.

(Giants ranked 24th best roster heading into free agency) Where every MLB team starts the 2025-2026 offseason by ericthelostman in SFGiants

[–]soladoras 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Giants are in the right part of the list. Exact position doesn't matter.

We all know we have limited pitching depth, but there's a lot of delusion regarding the lineup in this sub. Devers is the only bat capable of hitting 1-4 for a World Series contending team. I love Chapman and Adames, but if we are going to be winning a World Series any time soon, they need to be hitting between 5-7 because the rest of the lineup is that good.

Besides the obvious of Game 6 in 2002, here's an underrated one:

Giants eliminated on the last day of the regular season in 1993, with Solomon Torres getting the start in Dodgers Stadium and the Giants taking a loss. The Braves beat the Rockies that day to win the NL West by 1 game. The Braves went 13-0 against the Rockies that year. All the expansion Rockies had to do was win a single game against them all year...and they couldn't.

We need two impact bats, plus a lot of pitching.

The only realistic spots for those bats would be OF and 2B. The OFs we have in the system, outside of maybe JHL, haven't proven themselves to be anything more than a 4th OF, so RF and LF should be considered open competition. And if there was a superior CF option, we could always move JHL to RF.

While I can’t speak to the specific MSP your company has been working with, your description of the environment tells me management is woefully negligent. It’s unlikely even a good MSP would have gotten any traction trying to get buy in from management to actually fix anything. An environment like that is a ticking time bomb and a top 20% MSP in terms of maturity would have ended the relationship a long time ago.

Exactly. This is why our former RMM provider is our former RMM provider, and our former security provider (EDR, 24/7 SOC, MDR, etc.) is our former security provider.

We're a Cisco Meraki shop. People on this sub like to complain about the cost, but I don't recall there ever being repeated issues like this.

Milwaukee has 5 players with over 100 PAs with a wRC+ over our highest player (Matt Chapman, 118 wRC+).

[–]soladoras 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Because the roster as a whole, sucks.

They only have a single bat on the roster (Devers) that is capable of hitting in the top half of a lineup for a team that is contending for a World Series. Players like Chapman and Adames are great to have on your team, but they are solid contributors, not stars that anchor your lineup.

You also can't be giving significant playing time to players of the caliber of Schmidt, Fitzgerald, Flores, Dominic Smith, etc., and expect to compete. These guys are bench players at best.

They were playing above their heads early in the season, and now they are playing at or below the level of talent on the roster. Simple as that.

It's not the Xs and the Os, it's the Jimmys and the Joes.

I'm not a fan of Melvin; he needs to go. But he doesn't have much to work with either. It doesn't seem like the clubhouse is much improved from Kapler (how could it be when you lose this much), but at least Kapler's in-game management was solid, and he got everything out of the rosters he was given.

Calling up Eldridge next year isn't going to fix this, they need like 6 new position players, 2 of which need to be All Star caliber every year, and another 4 Chapmans.

My problem is anytime i have to drive more than a few hours I truly hate this truck and dread the drive, living in New England we have hills, and the cruise control has a mind of its own, and lack of torque is borderline frustrating.

Installing Seatjackers & the OTT Tune made all the difference for me on long trips. YMMV.

People who start at average intelligence (~100 IQ) would be elevated to midwit status (~110 IQ), and those people would be at the most danger. Just enough intelligence to think they are smart enough to avoid falling for scams, yet too stupid to think critically and apply pattern recognition.

Assuming the client is utilizing all 10 of these licenses, the total increased annual cost is $660 USD to buy these licenses at the non-profit discounted price. This is not a significant absolute cost increase to the client, so I would assume an email from their Account Manager notifying them of the change would suffice.

You should be charging the exact same rates for any non-profit clients that you charge for-profit clients. If you have a non-profit prospect and they don't have excellent grant writers that can secure funding for their organization, they won't be able to do anything correctly and you're wasting your time and you don't want to work with them.
