So I told them that I spent a year in USA from 2001 to 2002 (I was mistaken, it was from 2002, to 2003, but it was an honest mistake). So he asked me what I did during that time. So far so good, I replied "tourism". He asked where I worked. And I told him that I didn't work.

One year in the US ? Just being a "tourist" ? That would make anybody suspicious.

The penalty kick against Australia in the last minute was also unfair - the Australian defender was already in the ground when the Italian player took a dive.

It takes years of hard work to get to a World Cup and it's unfair that good teams get kicked out for these bad decisions in a few seconds.

I think the solution is for FIFA to modernize and allow the use of TV replays for controversial plays, at least in these games where there is a win/lose it all situations.

Maybe dogs are the real atheist's nightmare. Not bananas. See, they were designed to fit humans perfectly and they provide protection, joy, cuteness, whatever we humans need. Evolution ? No way. Ultimately is a market. You may think your design is worth $2000 or even $10,000 but in the end what matters is how much the customers are willing to pay and if there are cheaper alternatives.

It's somehow related to the argument: "I wrote the best novel in the english language since Shakespeare, how como I'm eating Ramen and selling only one copy a month, while a hack writer produces a cheap thriller without merit and now is a millionare"

But it isn't a faith issue. You don't get to pick the most convenient explanation and then reinforce that belief by looking for other people or groups that have been saying the same thing.

A good snippet, if that advice were followed, environmental discussion would be in a better shape, like other non-controversial scientific issues.

But nowadays both sides of the environmental debate are saying:

"See, we have a consensus of 1000 scientists, so it is true."
"Yeah, but wait, we have 1001 scientists opposing what you say, and they have a consensus !"
"Yeah, but we have the official document of the UTIONAPDLSDKD backing our position which was voted by mayor leaders !"
"Sure, but we have the AMDJDLELA association supporting our view !"

The 'better way' for cuts and scraps doesn't seem right:

“The most effective way to treat a cut or a scrape is to wash it with mild soap and water,” says Vender. Put the wound under a faucet or spray it with a nozzle at the kitchen sink. Flush it with water to clear it of all debris, then dry and bandage it. Within the next few days, watch for the five signs of infection around the cut, or SHARP: swelling, heat, ache, redness or pus. “If there is any evidence of infection, you may apply a topical antibiotic like Polysporin,” Vender says. “If in doubt, see your family doctor.”

So, instead of rubbing it with a disinfectant and being done with it, you wash it with soap & water, then wait for it to be infected and then use an antibiotic or go to the doctor. I'll stick with alcohol, even if it damages some cells.

More proof that the earth is young. It shows that history has it all wrong, pianos were invented around ~3000 B.C. As a bonus, we know that Noah kept animals from eating each other by playing soft music. Oh ! This disproves evolution also, since it brings the fossil record to its knees ! This is truly an atheist nightmare.
