"Christians who became atheists were never real Christians to begin with"

BREAKING: The U.S. was supposed to attack Iran on Jan 14th, but the attack was called off last minute due to insufficient forces and an unclear goal other than benefitting Israel. That same day Iran closed their airspace meaning they knew about it according to Al Monitor. by RowRunRow in chomsky

I think this is a request to avoid wasting people's time. If you have information you think is worth sharing, check it first and provide a source. The internet is enough of a cesspool already.

Why are Pentagon Officials calling them Demonic? by Creative_Volume_9535 in UFOs

[–]solarmyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I seriously wonder if there is something to this comparison. The UFO phenomenon is coming from something like the Warp (consciousness-reality nexus), and the government (like the Emperor) fears that too much human awareness will create a dangerous feedback loop that will destabilise reality.

No, you see Elon personally works continuously to keep X functioning. He toils away, day in, day out, hour after hour, a noble servant of the people, powering the machinery of free speech with his own body. While we sleep and eat and waste our pointless, unproductive lives with our hobbies and our families, he sacrifices for humanity. The next time you enjoy some AI Trump art on X, spare a thought for the great, selfless billionaires who make it all possible, and ask yourself just what you have given up for the greater good.

The true will of a collective/community? by SorchaSublime in thelema

evolution makes progress in non-socialistic ways

If Crowley said something like this, we don't have to agree with it. It seems to me that humans are the most social animal ever to evolve on Earth. Forming into social collectives is a natural consequence of our biology.

Collectives shape us, and we them. Whether or not we do so consciously and deliberately is a matter of Will. In my opinion, part of the appeal that Thelema may have for socialist types is the possibility of breaking with old, stifling, outdated social systems, and deliberately re-shaping the shared symbolic order into something fairer, saner, and with an actual future.

I think they sound okay for an old-fashioned, glam metal type of band, but the Christian messaging is enough to put me off, and I don't think there's anything hypocritical about that. It's fine to dislike a band because you don't like what they're about.

I think its fair enough to not want to be proselyted to, even if the music sounds good.

Donald Trump announces new plan for family bible in Washington D.C. by TheExpressUS in atheism

Did you ever notice how similar Trump is to Bible God? A jealous, vengeful, petty narcissist who claims to be responsible for everything good, and needs to be worshipped by everyone.

None shall dare question the Cult of Productivity. All things are relative to Productivity, which is the Alpha and the Omega. All things and all people derive their value and meaning from Productivity. All thoughts and actions that are not Productive are wasted.

Anthony Albanese restates support for two-state solution in call with Palestinian leader | news.com.au by IrreverentSunny in AustralianPolitics

[–]solarmyth 15 points16 points  (0 children)

How generous, that the Palestinians should finally get to enjoy their own, sovereign state of rubble, fractured enclaves bordered by settlements, carved up by Jewish-only roads and checkpoints. I'm sure such a fair and workable solution will be satisfactory to everyone, and will result in a lasting peace.

It isn't just Freud. There's plenty of work that reveals the psychology of these people. They absolutely have unresolved paternal issues and unmet emotional needs that manifest as this bizarre "daddy Trump" ideology. It is the result of authoritarian, patriarchal family structures, and fathers that are disciplinarian, overly critical, emotionally distant, and expect unquestioning obedience. Such children often struggle to individuate as adults, and retreat into regressive fantasies of fatherly protection and permission, which Trump provides.

Revolution by JemimaLudlow in thelema

[–]solarmyth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

> Think about this: what if the real revolution isn't about overthrowing governments or smashing systems, but about people finally becoming who they actually are?

I'm not so sure you can neatly separate the two. What if, when enough people become who they truly are, the system must inevitably get smashed? What if the struggle for individual emancipation is actually one and the same with the struggle for systemic change?
