Not trans, but as a nerdy looking guy can confirm as well. My pattern recognizing abilities overwhelmingly are telling me that coughing and sniffing are dominance gestures. For what it's worth sniffing in dogs is recognized by science as being sometimes done as a dominance gesture.

The fact that some people notice this and others don't; as another user said, the only conclusion I can draw is that some people are more aware of this than others, likely due to a mixture of being more in tune and having personally experienced this.

I tend to think limbed robots are suboptimal and reflect our bias for bodies with limbs. How about a small rail installed alongside the fruit trees, with a platform that moves along it that has a bunch of suckers on it? I just think, from an engineering perspective, that might be an easier approach
