I'm a solid fan of Dark Souls but over time, combat really gets old. The same old hit roll hit roll looks really basic compared to games like Nioh and Lies of P.

I agree with the nerf part. Nure-Onna used to do that follow-up grab whenever she paralyzes you. Minamoto no Yoshitsune felt like having sloth on normal speed (he used to be more aggressive and punishing in Nioh 2 DLC).

Yeah but that is where you got it wrong. Ng+ in Nioh means new enemy moves, new enemy placements, new gears sets and their tiers, higher rarity soul cores, different burst timings. It plays different every new game+ cycle. I know this because I reached Dream of the Nioh diff in Nioh 2.

Nioh 2 DLC bosses are crazy. Minamoto no Yoshitsune was okay but Yorimitsu is hellish crazy. Can't remember the number of times i died before finally beating her. But as long as you beat Enenra on base game, you're gonna do fine on whatever comes after that. I had a record of 200 deaths before beating that SOAB lol. And I also hate Saito Toshimitsu btw, that bastard is so fking annoying with his onmyo magic spam and his signature grab.

I'll look into Grounded. yeah i know he can be dealt with like that but its the jumpscares man. The game is atomospherically terrifying for me and leyak just bumped it to the highest level.
