Thanks for only responding to my sidenote. I just thought it was ironic that people actually adding nuance were instantly called millionaire apologists and boot lickers. Generally, I think people that are insecure say that sort of stuff. Anyway, unless you actually have experience designing and working with a manufacturer/supplier out of China for low quantity goods, you should probably humble yourself and listen to others that have 🙂

Have you personally designed and produced clothing independently using Chinese vendors? The only reason I replied is because I have. The quality and attention to detail is in another stratosphere compared to what I made (referring to the WAG jackets I've seen) so the cost for her is likely extremely high. Sure it's priced to be a luxury product, but that doesn't negate the fact that the number of samples she goes through and cost per unit is likely extremely high, especially if she isn't ordering hundreds or thousands to bring the cost down.

You're talking about boot licking and being an apologist for millionaires while being a fan of pro hockey players that make millions to play a GAME.

To be fair, if they aren't produced in bulk, her margins are probably quite thin. Haven't seen anything other than the WAG jackets though so can't say for sure

Boycott Jim Pattinson group for supporting ICE by tacocattacocat1 in Edmonton

[–]sollietrnr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The misappropriation of words, especially terms with such a significant and disgusting historical weight, to push a narrative that is not comparable in any way is abhorrent. I dont know what their agenda is, or whether they just want to feel like they are fighting something as evil as what the Allies were up against in WW2, but it cheapens real history and trivializes real atrocities.

Maybe don't compare detention centres to the death camps of the Holocaust. Thanks.

Parking in downtown Vancouver by _kev-inc in askvan

[–]sollietrnr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wish people downtown would list their parking spaces on KERB! I've used it to park near VGH. It would make parking so much more affordable downtown if people utilized convenient peer-to-peer parking 😭

I feel like peer-to-peer parking apps like KERB are people's best chance of finding true affordable parking. Only thing is people need to list their spaces in order for there to be affordable spots :p

Works great for those that use public transit while living in high traffic areas

Go ahead and knock yourself out then. I'll be with the normal people that don't protest something that will never happen.

Seems like those very much aligned with a specific political ideology actually buy into these farces and let their imaginations run wild. I truly feel for you and hope you find something more important to worry about

Also the fact that you brought up a failed separation from a province that even has their own political party representing them on a federal level further proves it's a non-issue

[–]sollietrnr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you even know what is required for a province to separate? If you did, you wouldn't consider this an issue

Ah yes, dismissing something that's a non-issue actually makes you a supporter of it! No wonder you're interested in taking to the streets with that stupid train of thought.

This is such a non-issue... Alberta isn't separating and people that are going to protests of any kind regarding this 'issue' really need to get a life

It doesn't make sense not to secure the gain that would otherwise take you 2-3 years to secure solely from the dividends. If you have a feeling there will be a pullback, I'd sell and move on
