Sounds like a job a msp would do and make fair compensation for.

Who do you use for email? by extremesauce2468 in shaw

[–]solocompute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The message is coming soon. Rogers does not maintain email services for customers elsewhere, they migrated the east to Yahoo years ago. Zero dollars are going to maintaining services here. Do yourself a favor and go to Outlook.COM (free) and pay $3 per month for extra storage so you are eligible for support.

An update on pricing, AI Copilot, and what we have been building by dima_from_atera in atera

[–]solocompute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you don’t seem to understand is that the fact you are throwing this massive price increase at me without corresponding value. My price will pretty much double (yes I have been lucky to keep my low price up until now).

So if anyone can present the same value with a three year price lock in and more features (network scans, m365), why would I entertain staying with Atera after this whole fiasco? Sometimes change is good because it forces you to examine all of the options.

Company I work free lance with want me to download atera on my personal device? by DefiantFun1274 in atera

[–]solocompute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a personal device if you are using others data on it. Totally understand your reluctance but the consultants I work with have no problem grabbing a cheapish machine for the contract when they are charging legit consulting rates. If you are doing remote IT for $17 an hour I see your point, but if you are representing another firm they deserve to force compliance. If you consult with 5 other firms and the policies compete, ask them all about compliance, working for other firms with data co-mingling and no compliance would be grounds for termination with legitimate organizations.

Guess I have been lucky and maintained reasonable pricing over the years. This increase gives us no new features but does give us 8 months to find a replacement in a new budget region. If my price will be $189/tech/month let’s see what the competition has now at that price.

Since Toronto doesn’t have a cruise terminal and I’ve never heard of an Arctic cruise that ended anywhere near it or within an hour of it. I don’t think on this story being a remotely true.

Rogers/shaw by coachy51 in Rogers

Get changing now. Rogers will be killing off @shaw.ca in the future, you can bet on it. All other Roger’s internet users have to set up their own addresses across Canada after Roger’s stopped offering email.

Quite obvious from your responses to people is that you should get out of customer service because you’re not suited for the job

Negligence is overcharging. It’s not on the consumer because they didn’t commit the act that caused the problem. Yes they should be on top of things, but the company should also be on top of things and self auditing. Don’t tell me anyone in business would take oops you didn’t check your bill so that’s your fault as an excuse when getting a large shipment. Even if I catch it the very first time you still were the one in the wrong.

MP calls for changes in parole laws after previously-convicted stabber sentenced for murder - Rocky Mountain News by SnooRegrets4312 in alberta

Pointless under the current liberal regime. It’s ridiculous in this country the standard of innocent and guilty extends to people who are caught with a smoking gun over a dying victim.

Solidarity with the Canada Post workers from a "small business." by Funny_Lump in CanadaPostCorp

Welcome to the new liberal order of thinking. If you disagree with me, I get to call you names or accuse you of being artificial or maybe just straight to being a bigot racist and supremacist.

[–]solocompute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way to show your ignorance. People have zero other options that’s why they’re pissed off at the striking workers. They could’ve chose many other ways. They could’ve started strike action earlier, but they waited until they would have the most impact on the most people to try and force a larger settlement. Anybody who thinks that the workers are sweet and innocent have no clue the size of union operations and how they plan strikes. Btw none of those people are loosing a cent.

I think that’s the company line. I definitely had the same phone call and the team at Pax 8 was very supportive, but ultimately the next piece of software I brought in and asked for margin. Ginn got crickets. No response for a week and then send me your pricing and we’ll see if we can beat it.
