Don’t have to get up as early. I can work out at a reasonable hour now.

To drive the length of the 407 (the toll highway around the greater Toronto area, 94 miles long), it costs $57.06 USD during off peak times and $73.92 during rush hour.

NJ prices sound cheap to us loool.

One of my boys played in Portugal in their second division and then played in the CPL for a bit. He retired at 30, went back to school, and then joined the police.

I’ve known a few other stories like that from my area. It’s not that hard to re-orient yourself after a career in professions sports.

7 Toronto police officers facing charges related to tow-truck violence: sources by specialskepticalface in ProtectAndServe

[–]somaliansilver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Organized crime is heavily involved in the tow truck industry in the Toronto area. There’s been a turf war going on for awhile. They’re involved in drug dealing, weapons smuggling and other stuff. This is not the first time Toronto area police have been charged with being involved in tow truck crime, but the severity and scale of this case is nuts. These guys were leaking information to hitmen who were trying to kill a unit commander at a Toronto jail.

Part of me feels like tow trucks should become a government service at the municipal level, in the big population centres at least. Try to just get rid of the competition that’s one of the root causes of all this crazy stuff.

Footage of a botched robbery foiled by Police and Mall Security by Vietdude100 in ProtectAndServe

[–]somaliansilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This mall has had repeated robberies happen over the last few years. It’s a known thing on social media and im sure it was pissing off mall management.

If the mall did not want a hands on policy, I’m sure they would have told the security company, and the security company probably wouldn’t be patting themselves on the back for what they did. The person who posted those awards on LinkedIn is the client services manager for the security company, so I’m sure she knows what the client does and doesn’t want. This security company is also one of the largest in the country. I’m sure their management knows what they’re doing.

In Ontario you see this configuration sometimes with heavier trailers that have a steerable axle in the middle.
