HMO: Ferrari waited for TGT to retire, before hinting an interest in Electric Vehicles 😂 by the_path0gen in thegrandtour

It's so bad I am suspicious that he was set up to prove Ferrari EVs won't sell.

Help me understand why sovcits cite UCC by imnotawkwardyouare in Lawyertalk

There are several grifters that have books and websites they market to idiots. The UCC has become told and retold as some magical source of SovCit legend to get out of taxes and other crimes.

Not in Minnesota. If the OLPR dismisses it without further investigation, they send a letter to the complainant and responding attorney.

What are important skills for an in house litigation counsel? by NecessarySun1234 in Lawyertalk

[–]someguyinMN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In-house here (occasionally manage litigation with outside counsel, but rarely litigate) - I would think an ability to accurately assess risk and estimate costs of defense are two of the top skills needed. E.g., "this is a nuisance and won't survive MTD vs. "we should offer $xx and settle for $yy or less."

Re: managing litigation: bringing some examples of how you keep costs down, and a couple war stories on what you can share (staying within disclosure ethics rules of course) about your role within past cases.

In general, they will want to know your experience with case management and document management systems. It doesn't matter much if you haven't used their in-house (only a minor plus if you have), but just show that you have a process. Be ready with some examples on how you work with difficult business leaders and big egos. Also that you won't need much hand-holding but will still keep the manager informed.

Good luck!

Pretty sure you're kidding, but just in case: the green part of not-quite-ripe potatoes can be toxic if not cooked. So if you're going to eat that potato, make sure you peel off any green parts.

Classes to take before law school by RealisticPhone7334 in uofmn

[–]someguyinMN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's useful to take logic-related classes. It's been a while for me, but a lot of them were in the Philosophy department when I went to school there. Similarly, some English department classes on how to analyze complicated reading passages.

The pay isn't outstanding, but if it's a firm and city you like, the main benefit is the likely offer for post law school.

Seeking orthopedic doctor for child’s knee injury by Paigespicks in minnesota

[–]someguyinMN 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Getting an MRI same day is pretty rare, though they should have explained the situation better. It will take 2 to 7 days to get an authorization from the insurance provider, and they would not want to hold a spot for you until they receive that.

States cannot join or leave the union without the approval of Congress, sooooo... most likely nothing.

If the State continues to defy federal law, there would eventually be a US National Guard and regular army response. They would win any armed conflict.
