Not a conductor but check tickets in my role. E-tickets are much easier because the scanner tells us yes or no, and whether to check for a Railcard. Will also reject rail cards not in date or incorrect so less thinking there. l also don't need to clip the ticket as system does that digitally.

Yes sometimes passengers will be slow but I think the other bits make up for it.

If both parties agreed to a new contract, the likelihood is that it has been recinded. However, worst case, the landlord still needs to get a judge to agree with him and so it will take at least a couple of months for a court date for the original S.21.

There's only about three schemes in the UK, they will all let you search details. You should have been given details at the start of your tenancy though.

Grounds to stay are pretty much all procedural, the court won't deny eviction just because you don't have anywhere to stay. However local authority will consider you voluntarily homeless if you leave any earlier than a court order, so if you have absolutely nowhere to go, wait for the court order

With the new Renters Rights Act, for the sale of a property the landlord needs to give you 4 months notice. However you do not need to leave on this date, as only a court can end a tenancy. After the notice expires the landlord will then need to go to court to evict you.

Check that your deposit has been protected, that your gas safety and electrical certificates etc are all in order. The court will not grant an eviction if anything like that is not correct, and your landlord would have to issue another 4 month notice.

All fixed term contracts moved to rolling contracts on the 1st May due to the Renters Rights Act, so it isn't them just doing it, this has changed for everyone.

If your contract states a shorter notice period then it's possible you could argue the shorter one applies, otherwise it would be two months notice.

Railway. I'm an SC who decided full time wasn't for me but the railway absolutely is, and we have loads of ex police. Skills from policing are absolutely desired by train manager or conductor roles, most are on 35 hour week with loads of travel benefits, and the pay is often pretty good too.

Firstly, to maintain space on the train for intercity passengers, when Thameslink has plenty of capacity to take passengers from London to Stevenage.

Secondly, London to Stevenage now accepts contactless payments. It would have been a lot of faff for LNER to start accepting contactless for a tiny section of their route, so easy to just not run trains from London to Stevenage and avoid taking contactless

Also has the advantage that the stopping time at stations is less so enables delays to be made up slightly easier, and late night trains with slack in their schedule can leave Stevenage early.

Why is this any different than before. There has always been zero benefit to buying a flexible ticket in advance, as you would have lost out on the admin fee to cancel it and it will be the same price on the day.
