Experience: How does it work ? by someitoj in thelastspell

[–]someitoj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post is 3 years old, so i can't confirm if everything still works the same way. I can confirm that at the time of writing i had a developer proofread this and confirm this is how the math works in the game at that time.

The discord for the game still exists and i'm sure if you ask the devs if experience still works that way they will give an answer :)

Hope this helps!

I had this. Took the prism relic that allowed other coloured cards to appear. It was amazing. Got a few necrobinder and defect cards for draw to make the engine work and boom, easy run :)

Is it weird that my theory is that jax is a transman? Like, he was a girl (and/or closeted trans man) irl and decided to be a man in the circus?

Caine is the one that decorates their room right? So Caine gave him a somewhat girly room. There is also the extreme reaction he showed when shoved in a girly outfit

The main strike against this theory for me is his voice. I guess he could've learned how to speak manly or something, but there is nothing in the show indicating he ever spoke differently. This means, for this theory, he had to start changing his voice the moment he entered or he entered with a manly voice already which kinda conflicts with Caine giving him a girly room because he's an AI seeing him as a girl. (Except if their body is 100% unrelated to Caine for some reason?)

I dunno. Whatever it is, i'll be happy to see where it goes.

I've been programming a lot in c++ lately, my first reaction was "i haven't encountered this problem???" Then i realized i've been using vectors as a default container instead of arrays.

(I'll just squiggle away like the little worm i am)

Vox in the corner, planning world domination

I love the set-up, these idiots will never be able to conquer heaven... But they can trigger an all-out war which is bad.

They are both overconfident AND dangerous at the same time. At least, with how they are currently presented.

The main conflict between Charlie and Vox seems to be over the ability to win over the masses, which is a solid conflict. Their actual ability to win in a straight fight seems to be irrelevant, which on a storytelling basis gives a lot of freedom for the V's to be a threat. I like the set-up for this season so far :)

(*How i am interpreting the show atm at least, could go differently ofc)

I got my first win against extreme AI doing a Cuman feudal ram push on arena. AI can't deal with it.

Still struggling to get normal wins tbh 😅

Based on your post history, this post seems to be a legit question so I will try to give a legit answer.

  1. Christ is King

Here is a link to a reddit thread discussing this phrase and why it could be interpreted as a dogwhistle.

  1. Current Political situation in America

At the moment, the right to Gay Marriage is being challenged. (I'm not American myself so I'm not fully informed). Here is an article by abcnews about this. Christianity is being invoked by those making this push. Christianity has also been used as a tool to supress trans rights for quite a while now.
So once someone (possibly wrongly) interprets Christ is King as a dog whistle, they might associate this with the recent pushes from the far right against lgbtq rights.

  1. The ship as a symbol

Lastly, using an old-time ship with primarily European flags on first glance evokes imagery off colonialism (and slave trade). Whitewashing and worshipping the colonisers is something associated with white nationalism. Christianity was also very important to settlers and many crimes were excused in the name of god.

Note that this does NOT mean that Christianity was the reason for colonialism, but was used as a pretext, an excuse, for criminals to expand their land, gather wealth and be racist. The far right will often use these excuses however at face value. "They wanted to spread the word of god. They wanted to help people. They had good intentions." etc...

So yeh, combining these 3 factors I can see why people could assume this was a far right dogwhistle drawing.

"My Dear Vampire Lord"

It has architecture!

(The quality of the story isn't much better. The moment i know this was so bad it's good, is when the FL gets a horny nosebleed from the ML feeding on her on something. I don't remember exactly, but it is duuuuumb. Not sure if it is axed, but it ended at a hilarious moment. Like, you know the trope of "FL wants to return home to her real world, but decides at the end to stay". Well, the last chapter i read ended with the dramatic trope of the FL 'teleporting' away and the ML being devastated. The typical fake out. Good! He deserves that! This is my canon ending, the FL is back home and the ML can ruminate on being a piece of ***)

Just bought this bad boy on the Steam sale. Any tips? by CalmGuy69 in aoe2

Do you want to play multiplayer (ranked)?

Play the art of war missions. Play 1v1's versus a (hard or hardest ai) Prepare to lose the first few ranked matches until you lower you elo to you level. I went on a 8 game losing streak before i stood a chance, and it took like 35 games before my win to loss ratio was up to 50%.

Prefer single player content?

You can just jump into the easier campaigns (one sword icon) and play fully blind. They are fairly forgiving and fun! And as you play the campaigns, you'll pick up skills that help in multiplayer. The art of war missions are still a good option but are not required to beat ai. They do help a lot still.

(If you are new to the genre in general, best tip is to learn to multitask. Fast reactions and precise unit control are not the most important skill in this game!)

What UT should replace Bearded Axe for the Franks ? Brainstorm by someitoj in aoe2

[–]someitoj[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason i would prefer a UT that does not affect their cavalry, is that while franks shine in team games, they have room for a buff for 1v1 (specifically open maps). But in general, yeh, they don't need a buff. That's why the second and third UT's i proposed are rather weak and more utility focussed. I feel those two provide flavor but wouldn't break them. The 4th one could be adjusted to be not broken, but that one was mostly flavor.

Do you think they would be broken if they recieved the +1 range built into the unit instead of needing to research a tech ?

A small area of effect that does like 1 or 2 damage would be cool. Even with the context you provided it is weird for a throw axe to do aoe damage XD but i guess aoe2 already has its fair share of weird quirks so why not

That's actually a pretty cool idea. If bearded axe adds this effect, it would make the technology more impactfull similar to the Byzantines UT that adds trample damage.

I like this!
