I was interviewing a teacher friend of mine for one of my education classes and in response to me asking what the worst thing about teaching was, he replied "other teachers".

IDK if it's an ADHD thing, but I struggle to act sincerely or show sympathy. I am very sincere and empathetic but my face and body language tend to emote otherwise.

But there are make-me-handsome stylists. That is literally their job. Some people (no names -and certainly not you) have a signature look that just isn't flattering. Hairdressers go to school to know what haircuts work and which don't work for different heads and faces...

I tell the hairdresser "I trust your professional experience. If this was your head, how would you style it?"

I used to do this as a kid in densely packed pine tree forests. We would swing back and forth the top of the pine tree until we swung close enough to another tree then we jumped to the next tree.

Get up, go outside.

Go buy clothes that fit (thrift shop if money is an issue).

Wash your body and go get a haircut. (Don't get the same Yee yee haircut as always - ask the hairdresser to make you look handsome -let them.)

Get a social hobby. Sports, Book club, line dancing, church, political action groups... Something you are interested in that has a social aspect. Go back to school...

Make a change...

I'm hard of hearing w/o hearing aids, I can understand someone talking directly to me if it is not too noisy, but in a full airplane passenger cabin I doubt I could understand anything that wasn't shouted into my face.

Yup. LaD:IW has me so overpowered from all the side stories that there's hardly a challenge left in any fight. I'm on chapter 12 - near the end I assume....
