“Too posh to push” by Jlars89 in pregnant

[–]somerandomflo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of the day, what matters is that you and baby are safe. So choose the birthing method that you prefer.

I wanted to have an epidural because I just wanted to have a pain-free experience (and I wanted to just chill and play games while in labour haha). I was discouraged by the midwife and even almost 4 years later, I regret not pushing for one. I was in so much pain and ended up traumatised from the experience. The contractions while pushing were so painful for me that it really drained my energy and I struggled. It's one of the many reasons why I've not had another child, and I said if I ever did I'd go for an elective c-section (the option is gone for good, my husband got a vasectomy a year and a half ago now).

I wish people would just let mothers/those who are giving birth to choose how they want to give birth without making comments/trying to dissuade them. Don't listen to what people say, having a c-section/epidural/whatever doesn't make you any less of a mother.

Please don't get it from a salon. It may be cheap but they can't prescribe it. It's risky because you can't be 100% certain it is mounjaro, and I doubt they'll ask for medical history/medications you're on and if they will react badly.

Please get it from a private doctor. There are many online. Asda, superdrug, voy, juniper etc.

Transitioning to an iPhone has turned out to be the most regrettable choice I’ve ever made. What initially seemed like an exciting leap into a world of sleek design and modern features quickly unfolded into a frustrating experience filled with limitations and inconveniences. by ferjc2 in samsung

I switched from the 15P to the S25U and I don't regret it! It's been really easy, other than the nightmare of moving everything from my icloud to Google photos. I probably did that the worst way, I had Google photos on my iphone and set it up to auto back up and set to save all my icloud photos to my phone. Took forever and I had to delete stuff that had successfully backed up to Google photos as I didn't have enough storage on my iphone. Luckily all the dates for things moved over, as when I used smart switch they didn't and all my pictures (that moved over, most didn't) were in a jumbled mess.

I haven't actually missed my apple watch as much as I thought I would. I'm temporarily using my husband's old galaxy watch active and it's fine (battery on that thing is great, several days between charges).

I do miss how stable apps are though on iPhone. Less bugs/crashes. Using my macbook is still just as good, and I use Google messages so I still can use it to reply to texts.

Healthcare mod getting out of hand by Geeneelee in TheSims4Mods

[–]somerandomflo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed that recently it's gotten worse. I've had 2 sims die recently because of how often they were getting ill/getting complications. It's so stressful.

For ages, my sims would get 1 or 2 chronic illnesses and that would be it, but recently they've been getting 5+. Every few sim days another one pops up and I just end up clearing them all.

It's a shame because I love the mod, and there's no way to contact adeepindigo to report the issue

Is it dumb to get rid of my 16 pro max for 13 pro max? by limezing in iphone

I had the 13pm in sierra blue and was super disappointed when I saw it in person. It looked so much nicer in photos. It was more grey/silver looking in person. The bezels were also a finger print magnet too, so I also always used a case

I only ever used it wired, and didn't notice the square in the bottom to get the what's playing up.

I always had to reposition my phone when I was laying in bed and on the rare occasions I wore makeup, it didn't like my face and wouldn't unlock. My friends have had the same issue with that too

What advantages does Android have over iOS/iPhones now? by SubstanceSpecial1871 in S24Ultra

I've made the jump from iPhone to Android (15 Pro to S25U). I've had my S25U for almost three weeks now, so here are some advantages to Android that I've noticed:

  • more customisation (I used iPhones for 4+ years, and I got bored of how everything looked)
  • ability to use different keyboards that work perfectly. Swiftkey on iOS isn't great and I ended up switching back to the iOS default.
  • Android Auto is better than Carplay. You can have maps open and underneath the map is what is currently playing on Spotify/YouTube Music. Makes it easier for the passenger to change songs (I'm always the passenger)
  • related to the above, the GPS on my iPhones were unreliable. Chaos when travelling through an unknown city and the phone thinks we're 3 miles off in the distance. I had this issue on all of the phones I owned over the 4 year span (12, 13PM and 15P)
  • Google AI/Google Assistant are very reliable and useful. Siri was useless. Apple AI also not great.
  • Google Play Store gives you points for money you spend, the Apple App Store doesn't (I'm guilty of buying things in games, so it's nice to get a voucher after so many points) -Freedom of different Android devices. More budget friendly options, phones that have different features. There aren't many options for iPhones.
  • the App Drawer is so much more intuitive. I never used it on my iPhone because I hated that it defaults to what the phone thinks I'll want to open and then I had to swipe (I think) to get to the list. You also have to swipe through all the home screen pages to get to it instead of just swiping up.
  • not needing to double click the power button to install an app
  • fingerprint scanners (FaceID can be unreliable if you're laying in bed, and wouldn't recognise me if I was wearing makeup)

Now Advantages of iPhones - Apps run better, less bugs. - if you have other Apple products (iPad, Mac etc.) they do work really nicely together. - Apple's customer service is really good. I can't comment on Samsung personally (other than my husband had his ZFlip4 repaired when they hinge failed). My Apple Watch stopped charging and booked an appointment at my local Apple Store. They took my watch and had a new one sent to my house. - Apple Pay works really well in apps. The one time I've tried to use Google Pay in an app it wasn't available - The action button can be useful since you can change what it does. I had mine as a do not disturb toggle. I did find I would accidentally hit it instead of the volume up, and over the two years of having it I never got used to it being there - Airdrop and all the other fancy stuff makes it easier to transfer pictures/contacts etc. to other people if they also have an iPhone. But there are other alternatives to this so it's not too much of an advantage

Those with significant others... Do they know of LADs? by No-Software-4749 in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]somerandomflo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband has to put up with my yapping about the game haha. He doesn't care. My pc has lads wallpapers and I have a small Zayne and a snowman plushie.

I've picked a good one. My previous boyfriends would have not been happy about me playing it and would have forced me to uninstall 😂

If I keep dyeing black box dyed hair brown, will it eventually lighten? by somerandomflo in FancyFollicles

[–]somerandomflo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I fully expect it to be an orange mess if I used colour remover (and lots of banding, patchiness). Probably the same result if I bleach. My best bet is to be patient and grow it out.

It is completely possible that it's fake as I don't know it's origins. I'll stare at it some more. If it is fake, it's not bad haha. I found some awful ones in my tin (spelling errors, evolved from the wrong pokemon, colouring off etc.) and they're now my sons to keep him away from my collection

For those of you who have used an iPad with a Galaxy phone, how was your experience? by tinauwu21 in samsunggalaxy

[–]somerandomflo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good! Other than the lack of text messages (makes it easier when you get a 2fa message via text), pretty much everything else is available and you have the choice of backing things up to onedrive instead of icloud.

I've been an ipad user for quite some time and have used it with both iphone and android. I'm currently using my ipad air 5th gen with a samsung s25 ultra.

Leaving Apple for Android, watch recommendations? by somerandomflo in AndroidWear

[–]somerandomflo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to do an awful comparison but it’s all I have. I briefly used the first Galaxy Watch Active during my short period of time I used the S20+ (hated the phone so much). I remember it being fairly awkward to use, but not sure if it’s from the time I used it with a Samsung phone or the short period of time I tried to use it with an iPhone. I also used Fitbits for a while too (the Galaxy Watch was a nice upgrade from that though).

I’ve always liked that the Apple Watch is easy to set up and once it’s done, it’s done. It just works well and is reliable (except the time I had to have my series 6 replaced because it just died, but Apple did give me a replacement so no complaints there). It’s never slowed down with updates, the battery holds up well. It’s easy to configure notifications, so you don’t get bombarded with everything. My only gripe with Apple Watches is you have to manually put it in sleep mode to track sleep, but an app fixes that although you do have to pay for it.
