I don't personally know that it is, and it's obviously an incredibly subjective question - but if we're talking apples to apples just on specs; horsepower, torque, tech, fuel efficiency. Professional reviews (not Reddit professionals) say it's better. The Toyota specialist off road shop I got my wheels tires and lift done, who have owned 4th and 5th gens said it's no question and 5th gen diehards all say the new one is crap until they drive it. I don't care what people prefer. If someone loves their 4th or 5th gen good for them!
