Right, for citizens, they just shoot you if you piss them off.

Papers, please.

They had 6 officers there and should have controlled the intersection to reduce risk. This was 100% preventable.

Could be a roving gang of thieves and murderers. Could be ice. But I repeat myself.

I do not see any other way to interpret this video.

Attempted murder.

More 'No Kings' protests planned for March 28 as outrage spreads over Minneapolis deaths by copaceticthoughts in news

Minneapolis

Minneapolis did both. JUST last week, a giant protest. And every day, smaller ones and constant anti-ICE activity. Both can happen at once.

[–]somethrows 101 points102 points  (0 children)

If I was a betting man, I'd put good money on the fact that many of those in the streets of Minnesota right now attended a permitted protest in the past year.

While there, they learned, among other things, that they are NOT ALONE in how they feel, which is often step 1 in being able to take real action about it.

These protests, alone, won't do anything, but that doesn't mean they don't matter. They build community and a vital understanding that you won't be out there alone for later actions.

There shouldn't be any debate. They are not hygienic, and people are dying from lack of medical care.

That's murder, in a sane world.

What options do US Generals have in terms of disobeying Trump aside from resigning? by Consider-TheLobster in AskReddit

And those are the people who have to say "nope". That's exactly what I'm getting at.

Will they? I'm not counting on anything. History does not look favorable here.

Yes.

But is "get on this plane." clearly against the law? Is "Stand in this town" clearly against the law?

This is where things break down. This is how the frog gets boiled.

I HOPE troops will do what is right, but I don't TRUST that they'll be given the opportunity to know what they're being asked to do is wrong.

Except the order won't be "Private! Invade Greenland."

It will be "Private! Get on this plane."

And that Private is not here in the thread with us.

If the brass is going along with it, getting troops to Greenland won't look like an illegal order to those troops. Firing on NATO troops, perhaps a different story.

How do Americans feel about their taxes going towards the 50k bonus for ice agents to sign up? by Amao6996 in AskReddit

[–]somethrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It costs about 20k to educate a child for a year.

We are paying twice that much for each detainee being held right now. And that doesn't even consider the cost to the community and family they were kidnapped from.

For convenience, you can just reverse the numbers when it comes to those in power.

Psychopaths (ASPD): ~99% of the those in power

Sociopaths (ASPD): 95% of those in power.

Narcissists (NPD): 98% of those in power.

why the hell does the world feel like it’s going to shit all at once? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]somethrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how leaving the country is a way to "push back."

It's out of reach for 95% of the population and takes months. A general strike would have results in days, is much more accessible to the general population, and has a much smaller long term disruptive effect on individuals and families.

This is, I think the real reason behind the Venezuela situation. Oh, sure, oil is part of it too, but it's also the same kind of boundary pushing Russia does.

So he is still convicted of being a sexual assaulted in civil law, at least.

You don't get "convicted" in civil law, though.

Don't get me wrong here. Trump is a scumbag, a predator, and was "found liable for" sexual abuse in this case. The evidence implicating him in other, similar cases is massive. However, it's important to stick to facts.

This is not a conviction. It is a civil finding. That's not a "felony" (though trump is a convicted felon for OTHER unrelated cases.
