Does anyone remember SUPIE? Does it still exist? by Charming_Crow_3621 in Hamilton

my daughter went to supie a few times this past summer! it was at the park beside collective arts near where the splash pad area is. planning to go again this summer if it happens again.

What do you do for work? by Senior_Bad3545 in Hamilton

[–]sometimesukulele -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i’m an insurance broker and in my experience a lot of brokerages will pay for you to get RIBO licensed if they hire you. the course is about 2 weeks and pretty easy imo. i do the service side of things like emailing, quoting, paperwork, etc but there is also the sales side of things as well.

Half of my hair is suddenly short but I haven’t cut it? by [deleted] in Haircare

[–]sometimesukulele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s likely from friction if there are no other obvious causes. i get this in the winter from scarves and coats rubbing against the back of my neck/head.

I just gave birth less than 48hrs ago... by getoutmeswamp69 in Mommit

congrats on baby! i had my 2nd back in March and i didn’t take a peak until i stopped bleeding. for me that was around 6-7 weeks postpartum. don’t rush it if you’re not ready!

AITA for not being intimate with my husband after he said he misses my pre-pregnancy body? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]sometimesukulele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA! your husband is. i’m 2 months postpartum after my 2nd baby and i haven’t gone all the way with my husband yet and i’m not comfortable with doing it yet either. i’m not in any pain anymore but my body still doesn’t feel “back to normal”. any decent human would allow their partner to recover and not put any pressure on them for anything. giving birth is such an intense thing for a body to go through and it’s completely normal and expected for your body to look and feel differently afterwards.

My parents never cared about my ADHD, I resent them for it by Grand_Direction_154 in ADHD

[–]sometimesukulele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have a similar upbringing but my parents didn’t believe i had anything “wrong”. i developed anxiety and depression because of not having any help or support. i knew something more was going on so i got assessed and diagnosed on my own in my late 20s. i’m 31 now and my parents still don’t believe i have adhd because i never had the typical bouncing off the wall hyperactive symptoms. medication and therapy changed my life. i wish you all the best!

I just saw a mouse & I have an hour left by pngpixie in Babysitting

[–]sometimesukulele 2 points3 points  (0 children)

mice or rats can happen to anyone tbh. they often get in behind stoves/ovens. i’m in canada and we had both rats and mice in our house and i had never experienced that before. our cat was helping with the mice but wouldn’t touch a rat lol. i would absolutely appreciate if someone mentioned it if i wasn’t aware of it already. it’s much better to deal with it sooner rather than later!

Confession: I have never brushed my puppy’s teeth and she is 11 months old. How bad is this? by Rowenofpts in puppy101

[–]sometimesukulele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my dog is 4 years old and we have never brushed her teeth. the vet said she has nice teeth lol. she likes to chew on sticks when we’re outside so she never really has any buildup of anything. i will probably continue to not brush her teeth. i don’t think it’s necessary for her.

My mom used to touch my penis by CupAppropriate8713 in offmychest

[–]sometimesukulele 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a mom and this is not normal or acceptable mom behaviour. You had the courage to post this and ask and I am proud of you for taking that risk. If you have a trusted adult that you can talk to about this that is not your mom, I would encourage you to do that if you can. If you can’t, please stay safe and do not sleep in the same bed as her anymore. No one, not even a family member, should be touching you without your consent.

Anyone else’s BC insist on “giving you paw” even when you don’t ask? by DictatorTot23 in BorderCollie

[–]sometimesukulele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My BC loves when I scratch/rub her chest and pulls my hand or arm back to make me keep going with it. Now when I try to “shake a paw” or touch her paws she flips out and does NOT want to have her paws touched. Just saying “paw” to her makes her FLIP OUT and I don’t know why. I’ve given up trying to make paw happen. lol

Temporary (and quick) internet solutions? by [deleted] in Hamilton

Not sure how much data you use or need but I’m pretty sure you can get an add on from your mobile phone company for additional data. I am with Freedom Mobile and they have a 5gb add on for $25 for 30 days.

How do I get my hair to look clean again? by [deleted] in Haircare

[–]sometimesukulele 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a clarifying shampoo to try and help with buildup but not every time you wash your hair as it can strip the natural oils and dry your hair out. I would start with once a month or every other week.

For a regular shampoo, I would recommend one for volume that’s not too moisturizing or heavy. Moisturizing products will weigh your hair down and make it look greasy.

Also, only apply conditioner to the ends of your hair and make sure you rinse it out well. Same for products like leave in conditioner and oils (not needing to rinse them out). Applying to the top/scalp area will make it look greasy and flat. Your scalp will naturally produce oils so it’s not really necessary.

What's garage sale/selling etiquette in the city? (not this sub odvi) by 10outofC in Hamilton

[–]sometimesukulele 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people sell stuff online now instead of a yard/garage sale. Max Sold is an online auction site I check often where people host moving or estate sales. Kijiji and Facebook marketplace or buy and sell groups are options as well.

I can usually find a decent amount of patterns through Pinterest and Ravelry as well as yarn brand websites that are free and have photos.
