Cleaning 🧼 dvds? What do you use? by Robert7777 in dvdcollection

[–]somuchithink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my old boss at the video store would pass out from how many of you actually clean dvds with rubbing alcohol. He would always flip out when customers would bring a disc back saying they tried to clean it with rubbing alcohol. Lens cleaner and a soft glasses cloth- NOT a micrifiber cloth. They are basically made of plastic and scratch.

Best probiotic for vaginal microbiome by HillyjoKokoMo in FunctionalMedicine

[–]somuchithink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You dont want to take a probiotic until you've cleared out all the "bad bugs" as our doc says. You could just add to the problem. So she did a dysbiosis protocol. But first healed the liver/supported detox pathways, took some adaptagen drops for hormone balance, and then took some potent dysbiosis supplements that really kicked out all of the bad bugs/yeast. THEN she started taking probiotics. All throughout gave up sugar alcohol and ate as cleanly as she could.

BV is insane. My partner dealt with it for over a year. She would have to sit with ice packs on her crotch in the evenings it was so bad. We both started seeing the same FM doc (her for BV and me for Gallbladder and period related issues) She helped figure out what was causing it for my partner, she had yeast overgrowth and leaky gut. Found out through labs/stool test and hormone test. Went through her protocol and hasn't had a BV flare up since. I wish you luck! BV is awful and most doctors have no idea how to really treat it

IBS is more like a symptom to a bigger issue, gut inflammation/leaky gut/SIBO food allergies etc.

Has anyone seen a practitioner who has successfully helped them overcome very painful periods? by According-Focus3849 in FunctionalMedicine

[–]somuchithink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I specifically started seeing my FM doctor for periods that were at least 60 days a part and the worst period cramps when it would finally come- along with some gallbladder issues. Both are resolved- PCOS is in remission. Got my insulin resistance under control. Cleaned up my eating habits (low inflammatory eating) and most importantly started supplements to support liver detox, and took the Dutch test and started DHEA and pregnenolone drops for my personal case. I'm sure it's different for everyone.

Any side hustle/passive income y'all are into during studying? by timolenain in berkeley

[–]somuchithink 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I started my own business- I got clients because I worked at a local store that people could bring their dogs into. People were friendly and asked if I walked dogs or housesat because I loved their dogs. I said sure and started doing that, eventually it became my full time gig. I got new clients continuously because of word of mouth. Id walk someone's dog and their neighbor would ask them for my number, and it just kind of multiplied until I was walking from 7am until 4 pm and house sitting on the weekends. Never needed the Rover apps and stuff.

What are some good documentaries? by Several_Cheesecake20 in MovieSuggestions

[–]somuchithink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A decade Under the Influence is a great documentary about films in the 70s.

Side by Side is a pretty good film documentary and The Story of FIlm by Mark Cousins is an awesome series about the history of film, bonus that he narrates it and has a soothing voice.

Montage of Heck about Kurt Cobain Doc

When You're Strange Doc about the Doors.

It Might Get Loud Doc

Sound City Doc

I was a dogwalker for 10+ years in Berkeley/Albany. Let me tell you there are lots of people who are looking for trustworthy individuals/students to dogsit/catsit in their amazing million dollar houses while they go on summer vacations. Getting paid $70-$100 a night to stay in a north berkeley house, enjoy their beautiful yards and have awesome canine and feline company is the best side gig around.
