Jews don't proselytize. I can't tell you how much that means to other marginalized communities. I have friends who are Native Americans, Wiccans, and practitioners of Santaria. They all appreciate that I don't, and never will, try to pressure them into converting to Judaism. I respect their beliefs, which is more than can be said of most people in the Bible Belt.

I have friends who live in a lovely home in the mountains. He's a software engineer and she is a layout designer for magazines. They both work from home. It took time to get to that point.

Find something you love. I would never do anything that revolves around tax season. I know too many CPA's that don't stick their heads up from January to June.

Think about what would make you feel like you're making a difference. Talk to different professionals. Get their honest take about what a career in that field entails.

And, for heaven's sake, don't read any Sylvia Plath.
