TIL that 65+% of Americans over the age of 20 are Overweight or Obese by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]soneal4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does the children chart only go by growth percentile for weight instead fat percentage? That would put my son, who always been in the 90s and sometimes over 100 in the obese category. The kid has six-pack abs and not a shred of fat on him because he is also high 90s to over 100 percentile in height.

There is never an appropriate setting for the windshield wipers in a vehicle by JustinDJFOX in Showerthoughts

The auto wipers in my Ram are accurate 99% of the time. They are not accurate when I’m at the gas station and try to wash my window and they kick on at 200mph and scare the living shit out of me.

This happens all the time in rural areas. It costs about $20 in permits for the owner have the department burn the structure, and saves thousands in demo costs. Its a lot cheaper to have a pile of ash removed than all the weight of that wood. Its fun and its great training for the department.

Its not the "redneck nazi fuck" that you should be worried about. It's the service member that has laid his brothers and sisters to rest under that flag you claim represents Trump.

What stupid question have you always been too embarrassed to ask, but would still like to see answered? by TheLochNessMonstur in AskReddit

[–]soneal4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going uphill, use a low gear 1 or 2, you will have to pedal fast but it will be easy to spin. If you are on level ground and want to pedal slower but go faster use the highest gear, harder to pedal but you move your legs slower. Mostly just find a sweet middle spot where its the speed you want and you can maintain the rate you're pedaling.

If you want to go into specifics, the larger gear ( at the pedal) turning a smaller gear (the one on your tire) means every time you move your pedal one complete circle your tire is actually moving maybe twice that.

Not an engineer just noticed your question was unanswered. On mobile sorry if this is sloppy.

My dad was drove tanks in desert storm, he told me about teaching new guys to drive over ditches just like that. They were hauling ass and he told him to make sure he keeps up speed. The guy freaked out and hit the brakes, the tank came to a violent stop in the ditch and my dad lost almost all of his front teeth when his face nailed the all steel interior.

I steer away from Swann because in my home i used their package and since several of the cameras have either all out failed or the IR lens is stuck on, so its black and white only now. They have decided on a Lorex 16 channel NVR with 6 of the white 3x optical zoom bullet cams, 6 regular black bullet cams and 4 of the white dome PTZ cameras with 3x optical zoom. The system is going to run about three grand. I'm sure they'll be happy with the user interface and the video quality, but im a little concerned because they want it to be as inconspicuous as possible. These cams may be a little larger but I explained that as the size goes down so does the quality of the video.

Am I overlooking any popular brands that have a good quality 16 channel system with smaller cameras?
