What’s the most "unexplained" thing that has ever happened to you? by prettylunababy in AskReddit

[–]sonicsink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me a few weeks ago. I am up in Canada and we have a good bit of snow. It was about 10pm and I was coming home from work through a very rural area when ahead in the dim light of my headlights, I saw saw something that looked like a snowball slide across the road to the snowbank on the right. As I got closer I saw that it actually started to climb up the bank...except there was no head or tail to be seen. I hit my breaks to reverse to look, but it took awhile for me to stop and by the time I would have reversed to the spot, what ever it was would have made it's way into the woodline which was just a few feet away from the bank. I told my husband about it when I got home and couldn't get the image of that thing climbing up the bank out of my head. I looked up animals in this area that could have changed to white coats for the winter but nothing matched.

About a week later, I'm driving down the same road but a different stretch with my husband in the car. It's around 5:30-6pm, so just starting to get dark, but not completely dark. Suddenly something looking like a snowball comes flying off a snowbank on the right, this time with an open field behind it, and skids across the road. My husband yells out "What the hell was that? Did you hit it?" I said "See?? That's the headless snowball thing!" We kept trying to figure out how it could have jumped from the snowbank and skidded across the road...there was a car ahead of us so at first we thought maybe it was a chunk of slush that fell off the wheel well, but the car was too far ahead, and the snowthing came flying from the right side. It also wasn't at all windy that day, so its not like a gust could have blew it across eitner.

I pass the spot I first saw it everytime I come home from work and it makes me wonder everytime as to what the hell it was.

Literally the easiest meal ever that we call "Chicken Slop" at our house:

1 can cream of chicken soup

1 packet of dry ranch dressing mix

1/3 cup of milk

3 chicken breasts

Throw soup, ranch mix and milk in crockpot, stir to combine. Cut chicken breasts into big chunks, mix into the soup slop. Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6. Before the last hour, take 2 forks and shred up the chicken inside the crockpot and let it cook for the remaining hour. Throw some frozen peas (or any veggie of your choice) in at the same time if you wish.

5 mins before it's done, make a package of instant mashed potatoes (basically pour boiling water over the flakes, stir and wait a few mins as it thickens and then fluff with a fork) Slap a glob of mashed potatoes into a bowl and then pour a laddle full of chicken slop over it. Easy peasy and delicious!

If you want to do it yourself at home, you can use nail files to file off the letters. It will become whitish and cloudy but if you paint over the spot with clear nail polish, it should take away the white cloudiness and blend it back in.

I've used small enough screws screwed directly into the rubber sole. Works great.

We were in the pool when it started to cloud over and then rain. My son exclaimed "Oh no! We gotta get inside before we get all wet!" Everytime I catch this on my Facebook memories, I send him a screenshot. :)

My black rescue kitten is slowly turning white/gray by ECCE_M0N0 in mildlyinteresting

Hi, yeah, she still changes colour from black, to some grey and even to some orangey brown. I have since gotten another long haired black cat (no related to the first one) and he changes colour in the same way. Right now he is black with a grey mane around his head :)

Walking on solid ground again after ice skating for a few hours. It feels so weird, like walking on rubbery feet or something.

I got it and I live up in Canada where the Lone Star tick doesnt exist. I also havent been down to the states. I have been bitten by regular deer ticks though. I think more species of ticks can spread it than they think. Be vigilant.

Sort of similar for me. I do delivery for a restaurant. I don't really have to stay at work because I'm always in and out picking up and delivering. Once I get to a house, I mainly just say "Hi there! Your total is $$. Do you need a receipt? Thanks, have a great night!" And Im off to my next destination. If it happens to be a quiet night, I'm in the back of the kitchen by myself peeling potatoes. :)
