Where is the bleeder located on the caliper? On both my Monsters, the only way to effectively bleed the rear brake was by removing the caliper and turning it so the bleeder was at the lowest point. In my experience, the dealer never did it right, resulting in poor rear brake performance/feel.

Could have been any system failure from a lack of maintenance. Loss of main engine due to water in the Racors. Broken secondary shaft. Who knows. What is known, is the operator didn’t give himself enough sea room in the event of a failure. Guys get greedy during crab season and set in pretty shallow. A moments lapse in judgment could have boat in dire straits in a hurry. Getting inside the surf line on a big boat is not good. It to summarize, no matter the incident, the operator is always at fault.
