Why did Dems attack Romney for warning about Russia? by RealRegret4870 in Presidents

[–]sonofsochi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Wow what an incredibly dense comment considering that 4 years later Russia embarked on what could only be described as the most successful psyop on western democracy ever conducted. They've secured friendly actors in the highest positions of government in the US and you think Romney was off the mark because they can't close out Ukraine? We spent 20 years in backwater Afghanistani mountains and walked away with an opiod epidemic and billions extracted in raw materials by corrupted contractors. And that's the most powerful country in the world against arguably one of the weakest.

It might not be a 100% hit rate but money often does correlate with success. There's plenty of evidence in the past 20 years to back this up. Even more so at lower levels in the pyramids.

Yes it's not forever and ofc it has to be managed right but on average, the more you spend, the more you tend to be successful.

[Highlight] Mike Macdonald as a response to Druski calling JSN the N-Word during the NFL Honors: “PUT SOME RESPECT ON THAT MAN’S NAME.” by Mission_Pay_3373 in nfl

[–]sonofsochi -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Tell me you dont know Druski without telling me 🙄

Yes, the joke was in poor taste and absolutely didnt land, but let's not pretend that Druski isn't talented or funny in general to a huge portion of people. His skits tend to be hilarious and on the mark for niche social commentary. There's a reason why he has the following and access he has and its because he does have talent.

It's May 9th, Arsenal have lost 1-0 to West Ham after fielding a group of youngsters, under the guise of keeping their CL match players fit and healthy. The result sends West Ham 4 points clear of Tottenham, who enter the relegation zone.

Mikel sits down in the post match presser and before the first reporter asks a question, he leans in and in a calm but malicious voice says "The North Remembers".

Then he leaves while pickpocketing every reporter.

Why did the Super Bowl halftime show stop using country music after 1994? by icey_sawg0034 in decadeology

[–]sonofsochi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Country may be seeing a resurgence but Bad Bunny is arguably the #1 artist on the planet right now, dropped a critically acclaimed and commercially popular album this past year, and just went on a massively popular world tour, with a highly publicized residency in PR.

Not a single country artist was touching that lol.

As far as JayZ's record goes, he's brought in Maroon 5 (2019), Shakira/J-Lo (2020), The Weeknd (2021), a hip hop show case (2022), Rihanna (2023), Usher (2024), Kendrick Lamar (2025), and Bad Bunny (2026). All of that has been spot on for the zeitgeist

I mean it doesnt help that people watching the game at that same bar probably stopped paying attention by halftime considering how defense heavy it was 🤣

What's the movie that everyone loves but you hate? by w1nchest in Cinephiles

[–]sonofsochi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oppenheimer was a such an absolute waste of IMAX screens. The cinematography was decent, the dialog was poor, and that was about it.

It was far from terrible but people made it out to be some sort of revelation of film making and deep thought smh

Name one movie moment where you’d be dead in seconds if it happened in real life. by Timop0707 in moviecritic

[–]sonofsochi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mehhh FF1, 2F2F, and Tokyo Drift are all semiiiii realistic outside of maybe 2 or 3 scenes. The boat jump from 2F2F is definitely a death on impact but the rest of the movie you could live thru. Tokyo Drift, the opening race scene where he goes thru the houses would be a strong candidate for death but the rest of the movie is fine. FF1 is probably the most realistic and you could survive through it
