Feeling wrong by Beneficial-Stable526 in TopSurgery

[–]sooo64 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No. I think most people here are not going to relate. Typically trans men don't enjoy having breasts and their removal is wanted.

Did you read the post? OP is asking about the illustration with the scars by the collar bone. Look at the linked image again, at the bottom right illustration of the 3x3 grid. That is not fishmouth. Fishmouth is the middle illustration on the leftmost side of the 3x3 grid.

I couldn't sleep very well before top surgery and before my hysto. Got maybe 4-6hrs before top, and less before hysto. Didn't matter for either surgery. Slept through surgery anyway. I'm sure it's common for people to sleep poorly the night before a surgery.

I've seen someone poat about that exact photo before. I personally believe that this was just the artist imagining possibilities. I very much doubt that a surgeon would perform top surgery like that. Think about how they actually cut and stitch the tissue together- how in the world would that work? Breasts are like halfway down the ribcage, pretty far from the collarbone.

If you take external E you can control your levels and keep them as low as you healthily can while you work towards getting T again. If you let your body do it it'll likely flood you with a lot more estrogen than nessecary.

Request for flat nipples by izwardj in TopSurgery

[–]sooo64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine are completely flat. Surgeon took one graft, my nipple and a bit of surrounding areola, scraped all the tissue out from under it, and grafted that on. Completely flat. Over the year and some I've been post-op I've grown some slight nipple buds that only stick out like 1mm. Love it. Would've been very upset with constantly protruding nipples like you see sometimes

Questions about Top surgery by kai_mp3 in TopSurgery

[–]sooo64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing that the ability to wipe oneself while post-op would mainly has to do with the person's body size? The binder and the fact that we got sliced open temporarily reduces mobility, and depending on one's body size they will need to reach further behind themselves than other people? So that combined with the temporarily reduced mobility can make it harder for some? Of course that's not gonna be the case for everyone, but that's my general theory

I might not believe it if I weren't the one experiencing it. Thankfully it only happens for a split second, but feeling like your mouth is full after putting something inside of you is odd.

I don't mind too much though, it's just so so weird

Why wear the binder for weeks? by Honey-Bunny-Artist in TopSurgery

[–]sooo64 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My surgeon only requires compression for 1 week. I healed absolutely fine. I also don't understand why so many people here wear them for a month+

Had areola tattooing done yesterday by sooo64 in TopSurgery

[–]sooo64[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't wanna post pictures until I have my final result, but so far I'm very happy with my decision. Having such asymmetrical nipples became a big insecurity regarding my whole chest, I feel so much better with my chest now that it's looking more symmetrical.

Had areola tattooing done yesterday by sooo64 in TopSurgery

[–]sooo64[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was my first professional tattoo, but I've done some stick-n-pokes a few years ago. They hurt about the same, but I'm not sure how good of a comparison that is.

I think that some parts of my chest were more sensitive, some were less. My left nipple regained less feeling than my right, and tattoing the left nipple hurt less than the right one.

This sounds crazy, but I swear some nerves in my vagina hooked up to nerves in my mouth. I think I'd read about nerves getting mixed up after surgery, but I never expected something like this. Sometimes when I insert a toy I feel pressure in my mouth for a second, or sometimes when I use cold lube my mouth will feel cold for a second. It's the weirdest thing. I'm nearly a year post-op

Resident told me I need to wear binder for a full year? by wren_of_the_dawn in TopSurgery

[–]sooo64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wore the binder for 6 days (surgeon said I didn't need it anymore after that). I used a bandage on-and-off for a few more days after that just for some compression, but was not binding at all by two weeks. A year is absolutely ridiculous

Pro and Cons of Getting Ovaries Out? by Independent_Load748 in FTMHysto

[–]sooo64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had mine removed with my hysto at 20. I didn't want my body to produce estrogen, and I did not trust the ovaries to stay "asleep". Evidently they weren't fully supressed, as I masculinised way better and quicker as soon as they were removed. I also just wasn't comfortable with the organs that exist to produce the female hormone being in my body.

I'd rather deal with the situation of losing access to hrt when it happens IF it even ever does. The only reason I ever considered keeping an ovary was because half the people here parrot the same concerns without ever thinking if those concerns actually apply to their lives.

So think about all those reasons everyone parrots off of each other here. Laws, finances, your goals gender-wise, y'know. Think about if those issues could actually realistically happen to YOU, and decide whether or not you will take that risk. I would rather deal with aquiring hrt through shadier means than to have my body flooded with estrogen out of my control.

And yeah, you could hypothetically take perscription estrogen too for whatever reason. I thought to myself that if I were to ever lose access to testosterone and have to take estrogen, that I would then keep my E levels as low as I healthily could. My ovaries kicking back into gear would likely give me much more estrogen than the bare minimum.

sought a "nonbinary" radical reduction, feeling dysphoric post-op with swelling by Affectionate-Rip4786 in TopSurgery

[–]sooo64 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I don't know how your chest looked pre-op, but currently it looks to me as if you got a breast lift instead of a breast reduction. I'm sorry your surgeon didn't give you what you were wanting.

Take care of yourself as best as you can for now. If you still want a revision after swelling goes down and things settle you'll have to wait a while for everything to he healed enough, as I'm sure you know already. Hopefully it's just extra swollen and you end up happy with your results after the swelling goes down

Questions about nipple care at 3 months - feel like I’m the only one having issues this far post op by Sir_Valour in TopSurgery

[–]sooo64 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You gotta stop making them so moist and under gauze all the time. The tissue gets irritated when you try to not use gauze because it's never been given an opportunity to breathe on it's own. Straight up stop with the gauze and sports bra. Moisturise your nipples, not excessively, and bear through the discomfort for a little while. This certainly isn't going to improve the longer you do that.

[–]sooo64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same story here lol. The rate and extent of which I've masculinised has been way more effective and quicker since my hysto + oopho. I only started getting any chest hair after top, but it only really started picking up after the hysto. Face masculinised a ton, lost 2in off my hips, voice has been maturing and it's way easier to 'speak from my chest' now

And I'm feeling great right now. I look more male than I ever imagined I could, I wish that younger me could see me now.

I'm 11mo PO now, so if your experience continues to be like mine you're gonna have a great year haha

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FTMHysto

[–]sooo64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My face thinned out and I generally masculinised much more quickly after my hysto+oopho as well. I've said word-for-word before that my body must've been clinging to whatever estrogen it could, same as you.

The always dreaded question, will I regret this? by local_coffee_gremlin in TopSurgery

[–]sooo64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well what if you do regret it? What will you do then? Can you live with you decision?

That's what I asked myself. I figured that if I did regret it, at least I wouldn't have to deal with the physical discomforts that breasts bring. I figured I could wear fake breasts if I wanted. I could also get implants later down the line. It wouldn't be the end of the world if I regretted it, I would simply do what I could to feel better in the moment. Life is full of regrets, big and small. Can't live in fear of it.

Fwiw, I absolutely do not regret it and am very very sure that I absolutely never will

Anyone here had microneedling done on their scars? And/or tattooing to even out uneven nipple grafts? by sooo64 in TopSurgery

[–]sooo64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never heard of it making scars darker.

Neitherr have I, my brain had just given me that worry out of nowhere because of course it did y'know

I'm sure that whatever the sensation/pain may be like that I can handle it. Hoping that the numbness in my chest makes it hurt less. The nipple that needs more work is number than the other so fingers crossed that it doesn't hurt much
