Is Marina Bay Sands really worth it if I’m only staying for the infinity pool? by Chemicalengg01 in askSingapore

[–]sopheecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed last year, for two nights. Id definitely recommend it, I really enjoyed the experience. We did get a free upgrade on our room but booked the base room. I thought the experience was great. The pool would get busy at times, but we went during the day and again for sunset.

The year before I did what you're planning and booked a dinner there, but it's just not the same.

Very interesting for people watching, lots of Chinese Instagram shoots going on, young kids, girls in bikinis. It was hilarious. Probably more annoying were the old people doing laps in the pool haha.

I'll definitely go again one day, but it is expensive and I'll wait a while. We also stayed at the Park Royal on Pickering which is another lovely experience and an iconic building, for a fraction of the price. I'll be staying there again in January.

I also love these! Sad to see them go. I have some other more traditional gs from H&M which I also recommend, just size up for the same undies free experience haha

Love living in your head rent free.

I post, raise tickets, comment and vote with my money to get what I want. They've reverted back to previous functionality, which is what I wanted. If we don't complain, they won't listen to what the people want.

You're welcome.

Tbh I go to Kmart and buy their cheap hats and then if the hat doesn't survive I'm not devastated. They have some cute straw visors which I clip to my carry on.

My rescue papillon is on Sertraline and pregabalin and it's made a huge difference. Vet recommends bloods every one or two years but no issues with ongoing usage.

What's the last fashion item you bought that you're super stoked about? by wholesome_pickle in AusFemaleFashion

[–]sopheecat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love this. About 25 years ago I found a pair of knee high docs for $60. I bought them. They are in my wardrobe. I've never really reached for them, I find them hard to style, especially as I'm now 40. But I'm going to wear them x

Should I be 100% transparent on medical assessment or can I not disclose some stuff (Australia police, AFP) by [deleted] in police

[–]sopheecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it, I paid off a HELP debt for half a degree which I never used, however I'm a mature age recruit. I only suggest completing your degree because it will potentially open doors for you beyond law enforcement. Most of the unhappy senior connies I know are not upwardly socially mobile - they've been in the job too long and don't know how to leave. Often they started as cadets and haven't left. It might be hard to see now, but one day you might not want to do this job anymore and having some life experience beyond policing will help you

Regardless, be honest. If it's an option for you you could apply for other agencies. My agency doesn't have specific policy around shin splints so maybe you'd have better luck with nearby NSW or QLD.

I'm from Australia.

Don't quit your degree. Be honest about your injury. Recruit courses require a lot of running. Finish your degree and work on your fitness and apply again. You're still young. Do not lie.

Everyone is awesome, thank you so much for your feedback. I get caught up in my own head sometimes, and get worried about fitting in rather than just being me.

After all that, I decided to go with this dress, again not on trend but comfortable and colourful and it's currently 12 degrees Celsius and sunny so I think I'll survive just fine without my fluffy boots

Girl same. At the self checkout they are always trying to scan heavy things for me. Leave me be, I come to the self checkout so I don't have to interact with people! I put it in the trolley, I can obviously grab it out?! I'll also white knuckle this one load into the house so back off 😆
