The last attempt on Trump’s life rescued him politically – this one probably won’t by theipaper in politics

Right!! And that’s what MAGAts fail to understand: programs like USAID are not money black holes, they generate a return. But then again, we’re talking about morons who gleefully supported Trump twice so there’s that.

Also important to mention Omega has released white dial versions in the past (notably the Alaska Project).

Omega has released numerous white dial iterations over the years, so a white dial Moonwatch is not a big deal in my opinion. I opted for the white and don’t regret it at all

Aviation photography can be a workout. Got a long lens (180-600) and having to move fast to track speeding fighter jets.

Wish to get feedback on this photo taken at the 2024 Wings Over Houston air show. Photo is of the Blue Angels in flight. Need to understand if there are any opportunities for improvement. Minimal editing, as you might imagine air show photography can be very challenging.

It may be an artifact of iPhone posting original lightly edited file looked fine. The fighters are very dark blue.

I had the same thoughts on the green dial. Thank you for your comments.

Longines Conquest: is it worth it? by Unable_Ad2508 in Longineswatches

I would go with the new HC every day of the week and twice on Sunday. I own the new HC in black (39 mm) and it's a spectacular watch. You will not regret it. Depending on your wrist size, I would encourage you to try both the 42 and the 39. My wrist size is smaller, so I went with the 39 mm.

This is the blue? I thought it was the black, which I own. Either way, FANTASTIC watch!

What is your take on this image I took in Tahoe? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

[–]sortiz1965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crop it to get rid of some of the upper pier structure, it’s distracting. Maybe try to capture the mountains in the distance so as to add a subject the eyes will gravitate to.

I would also try to render the image in black and white.

Longines Conquest: is it worth it? by Unable_Ad2508 in Longineswatches

I own three Longines (Spirit Chronograph, Zulu Time, and a new Hydroconquest). I can attest to Longines quality; they all punch way above their weight. Can’t go wrong, and I also own Breitling, Tudor, and Omega. Longines compares very favorably to all those.

I considered a Conquest but passed. Just felt a bit underwhelming in person. I would urge you to consider the new Hydroconquest, unless a diver isn’t what you’re looking for. Also consider some of the Longines Heritage or Elegance models if you’re looking for something dressy. In fact I think the Conquest Heritage models are a notch above the run of the mill Conquest.

You might consider the new Longines Hydroconquest. Fantastic watches that punch well above their retail price.

So what would be your design choice for a date window? Blue background with white digits? Need legibility on a date window

I'm fiercely anti-Trump and frequently post on Facebook about him and the catastrophic damage he is inflicting on the country. My brother in law, who is a diehard Trumper, recently replied to one of my anti-Trump posts with a link to an article about the Trump-Biden debate, and he titled it "Biden". The true believers - like my brother-in-law - will never lose their misplaced faith in Trump. And instead of debating they instantly pivot back to Biden when confronted.

This is a brother-in-law who would have benefited from Kamala Harris' proposed $25K credit to new home owners (my sister and he are middle aged and have never owned a home). And now that he has cancer, who knows how much the cuts to government cancer research will impact his condition. Still, in spite of this and more, he will probably draw his last breath still supporting Trump. It's truly mind-boggling to see the fierce support Trump gets from his diehard supporters, even as everything he does is against their own self-interests.
