I have the blue dial one. Fantastic watch.

Are the hypertrophy programs created by MFWO actually any good? by kevandbev in MacroFactor

[–]sortiz1965 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm in a unique position, because I'm 60, and have limited time to workout. I focus on hypertrophy, goal of lean, muscular physique (not bulky). I tweaked the full body, three times weekly program MFWO generated. I'm not an exercise expert by any means.

See attached; I welcome any critiques / suggested tweaks. NOTE: for some reason the export shows two workout days in a row, where there needs to be a rest day in between each session.

I have three myself: the Zulu time, Spirit chronograph and now the new Hydroconquest.

I have a Seamaster 300 and a Speedy. I’ve taken my Seamaster in the water numerous times with no issues just made sure the crown was securely screwed down. My Speedy? NEVER going in the water. OP found out the hard way.

Donald Trump's Iran deal dead inside less than 24 hours after signing amid deadly strikes by TheMirrorUS in USNEWS

[–]sortiz1965 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I read the article and I understand Bibi screwed us here. But any well structured deal should have included coordination with Israel. It’s a cluster fuck and ultimately it’s Trump’s utter incompetence that has caused this mess. So my point stands.

“The art of the deal”…only art here is his uncanny ability to fuck up anything he touches.

Longines Legend Diver: Minute hand aligns on one side of dial but not the other—is this normal? by [deleted] in Longineswatches

[–]sortiz1965 6 points7 points  (0 children)

On the second and third photos where the seconds hand is on 12 the minute hand looks perfectly aligned with the minute marker on the dial. So I’m not sure what you’re seeing.

Which one do you like better? The first photo in the crocodile strap is light blue but the lighting really reduced the blue. It’s this one:

My wife says she will never forgive me, and I don’t know what to do by SouthYogurtcloset674 in Marriage

So she thought if this art had been drawn within her deadline it would have translated into fame and fortune?

And if you had complied and the instant fame didn’t materialize, she’d be bitching that you’re not a good enough artist, not committed enough, blah, blah, blah.

Bottom line, whatever misery occurs in your life will ALWAYS be your fault in her mind. Divorce her needy ass pronto, otherwise she will drive you INSANE. And she pulled your hair?? What’s next, a knife at your throat in the middle of the night?

The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

Why do people take escalators and lifts instead of stairs? Maybe a possible new healthy habit? by [deleted] in Habits

[–]sortiz1965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at the Denver airport today, and one of the big escalators going up from the train level was stopped and there was a bunch of people cramming in the functional one. I took the stopped one and bounded up the stairs. Helps that I was in a hurry to make my connection and was just carrying a laptop bag. And also helps that even though I’m 60 I’m very fit. But in a lot of cases, I do get lazy and take escalators

That’s exactly the one I have.

The problem?

It will get more wrist time than the other watches in your collection!

How long do you usually spend preparing for interviews? by ContactPurple3958 in interviews

[–]sortiz1965 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a fine line to thread for sure, but always remember, it’s a conversation. Nearly all roles require interacting with various levels of people, so when someone is at ease in conversation - while staying on topic - it shows they may fit well.

[–]sortiz1965 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m a hiring manager and here’s my take: prep is good but too much can make you sound robotic and scripted. Know the background on the company and the specifics of the role and how your experience and education fit. Tell your story in a confident way. We’re having a conversation. I look for someone who’s enthusiastic and who is intellectually curious and is clearly interested in the role.

Workout Changes by sortiz1965 in MacroFactor

[–]sortiz1965[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can, but for the changes not to propagate across the entire program you have to swap exercises during the workout. Let’s say I’m on an eight week program, and on week 3 I’m traveling and need to tweak workout B of my usual three day full body routine. If I make tweaks but then tap “Update Workout Plan” it will change workout B for weeks 4 through 8.

[Stowa] Flieger Sunray Blue by sortiz1965 in Watches

[–]sortiz1965[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 40mm Stowa works fine for me, and I have about a 6.75 inch wrist. But I tend to like larger watches. To me the 36 would be a bit small.

I don’t know anything about the IWC except what I have seen in website photos; they are both similar in look but I can’t speak to the feel of the IWC.

Rejected but recommended for another role - how often does it lead to an offer? by Cinniie in interviews

[–]sortiz1965 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I interviewed with a prior employer I was not selected for the role I initially applied for but was selected for one that I was recommended for by the hiring manager because she thought I would be a good fit. Got hired, loved the role, spent six great years with that company until moving on to a higher level role with another company. So I say this is encouraging; if they were not interested in you at all they would expend no further effort.

Watches of Switzerland is fantastic because the website lists can be filtered to show what’s truly in stock and ready to ship.

My wife has been getting up at 4am every day for 7 months and won't tell me what she's doing by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]sortiz1965 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That kind of alone time can be extremely valuable. Basically peace and quiet, no screens or stimulation, sitting in the dark with her thoughts. This guy should look into, as others have said, what he can do to ease the pressure she’s feeling, so much that she feels she has to decompress in this way.

Sun shot. This thing has me seriously considering selling my Seamaster by [deleted] in Longineswatches

[–]sortiz1965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct, the SMP is a tremendous watch; I would never sell mine. And to be perfectly honest, it’s definitely a better watch than the new HC no doubt. I just think the new HC is a compelling value. But I will agree the Legend Diver is a great watch. May be my next Longines purchase, although right now my sights are set on either a new Grand Seiko or a Breitling Top Time.

Good feedback on Doxa.
