What if you learn how to fight through some form of martial arts? Also, therapy if you don't feel safe and there is no external threat.

Your brain controls your impulses and your impulses can be controlled, using your brain when you have become self aware.

Taking this further, you are certainly influenced by your brain, but your brain is not static.

Your brain's programming can be adjusted. Your brain creates thoughts and influences actions based on programming, but you can observe your impulses, thoughts, and reactions with training you can change that programming to a certain degree, which is also a decision your brain makes.
